...That's no reason to double post, because the thread itself doesn't disappear, only the 'overview' thumbnail.

No support. I thought the flags are just to show where you are currently living. Not all the places you lived, are from, or to show languages you can speak and understand.

Well, right now it is the only use they have. My suggestion is to change that.

Full support.
This could actually help you meet people, like "oh you lived in France? Me too! Did you..." and etc. I don't have a personal reason to support, but it'll help communication.

The country you live in isn't a fluid thing; you either live in one country or another. If you lived in France for a while, but you're in the U.S. now, but you still identify as a French person, then put French. if you don't feel that way, put U.S. The only exception are people that coincidentally live on the border of two countries, but I doubt theres anyone like that on here, and even if there is, legally, you probably belong to one country or the other. Otherwise, no dice.

What about people with two passports? Or those that are halflings? Or those that are international students?

In this time and age, there are quite a lot of people that don't see themselves as citizens of merely one country. Even if you are legally only the citizen of one country, you might sometimes belong to two cultures. I feel that the flag shouldn't only be representing the country you live in but also which culture you belong in.

I agree with silverstar.
also, I would like to see how the combination of flags would look.

If you have two passports, than thats pretty cool, I have to admit, but it doesn't change the fact that you most likely live in one country. As for international students, then that pretty much falls under my example; put which country you want people to know you by. And halflings... well, you'll have to fill me in on that, as I don't know what they are, and when I looked it up, Google gave me a bunch of stuff from D&D and The Hobbit, which is probably not what you meant by that ^^'

I'm not trying to be callous to people who feel this way, because I think it's really cool how you can be a part of more than 1 culture, but if you belong to 2 or more different cultures/countries, then thats something you should mention in your "About Me", which, frankly, I typically look at more often than the country flag when I visit a profile, so there it can also get seen more often.

@Xurkitree when I get to a PC I can make this for you.

@Finchwidget I still don't understand why are you against this idea. What are the negative points you see?

@Pilufa

It just seems unnecessary is all. I've already aired my grievances in my past two posts, but it just seems to me that you should just put the flag of what country you want people to see you as, and put whatever you want to put pertaining to your countries or cultures in your About Me, which most people are probably going to see more often than your flag anyway.
