I grew up playing Pokemon Platinum and Heartgold. I never really had any friends to trade with. Plus, our new router was WPA2, which is incompatible with Nintendo DS games; as such I was never able to trade online. Because of these two factors, Pokemon is a game that (no matter how much I love it) I associate with isolation and loneliness.

This is of course no longer how I view the franchise by any means. With the advent of Wiimmfi and the Pokemon Classic Network, I have been given a second chance to participate in a world I thought I would never have access to. Aside from religious experiences, being able to connect to the GTS in Pokemon Platinum is the most cathartic thing to ever happen to me.

In the same vein, I want to reach out and participate more in the Pokemon community online. That is why I am here. Thank you for being a lovely and welcoming community of people. May you be blessed in life.
