Magic glanced at the letter again, but her mind was too restless to focus on it. With a quiet sigh, she tucked it away for later and turned her attention to the gathering crowd.
That’s when she spotted him—the Toxtricity with an unusual green hue, standing just slightly apart from the others. She recognized him immediately as a fellow rogue, though not one she'd had many run-ins with. Still… he was familiar. And capable.
With a flick of her tail, Magic began to float through the throng of Pokémon, weaving around clustered groups until she reached him.
"Hey," she said, a little sheepish but sincere. "I know I probably didn’t leave the best impression before—when I got caught up arguing with that Manectric." She rubbed the back of her neck with a paw. "But… would you maybe want to team up?"
