Listen I just wanted to start this thread to give some love to my favorite non-rival characters, mostly because the rivals are the most talked about characters in most generations, maybe aside from the villains so I just wanted to give them some love. To get things started I would just like to say I REALLY love Grimsley and he's the reason that I wish the Elite Four were more story-relevant because he seems like he'd be fun to vibe with

He has a really neat design, he's one of 3 dark type elite four members and I feel he embodies the vibe best (ALSO HE HAS A LIEPARD and I love seeing Liepard on teams, it's the best regional cat). I was so happy to see him return in Alola along with Colress (who is also one of my favs), and his new design with the white hair? *chefs kiss* beautiful, amazing, no notes. He's a diva, an icon, sure he canonically is a gambler but he at least isn't spending money he doesn't have lol being in the elite four has GOT to pay well.

I would honestly be stuck. Not because I have lots of non-rivals that I love, but because I don't play lots of Pokemon games, and Blue is my forever senpai. I guess it would have to be Lucas, because I just found out Barry's also a rival :(

Eyyy, Wishmaker, we've got two of the same faves! Colress is personally my top fav in the entire series. His Adventures iteration is hilarious to me just because of how unapologetically horrible he is, and his expressions in the panels are so goofy. Grimsley's also up there for me, he's got a darn cool design.

I also really like Iono and Koga! Iono's another one of those "really funny and charming" characters to me, and Koga going from a gym leader to elite four between the Kanto and Johto games was something we don't see too much of in-series. I think the only other similar transitions aaaare

- Caitlin (Battle Frontier to Elite Four)
- Wallace (Gym Leader to Champion)
- Larry (Gym Leader and Elite Four)

But yeah! tl;dr, order goes Colress -> Grimsley -> Iono -> Koga

I absolutely understand his viewpoint about needing more land.

1. Ocean is more than twice the size of land
2. Only about 2/3 of that land is hospitable to humans
3. Overpopulation and depletion of resources faster than they can be replaced
4. Now imagine if we had fire-breathing dogs fighting over territory or small rock dinosaurs that can eat a mountain
