Does anyone know how to start a SM hunt? whenever I use pokeradar, it just starts a shiny hunt.

A "shiny mega" hunt is actually a normal shiny hunt, with the purpose of hatching until a shiny with a bubble (shiny mega) hatches.
It's not a different kind of hunt, it's the same hunt with a different end goal.
