I feel like I'm lowkey not progressing, but progressing at the same time. how does one get star pieces and what should I do to get Jirachi? >w<

There’s really no universal definition of “progressing” in this game. I think everyone here has different things they specialize in and different goals. There’s nothing that you have to do.

Do you want to get Jirachi? You could find someone selling it at the Auction House or trading it on the GTS if you want to get it as cheaply as possible. Or, if you want to hatch it for the eggdex or to get one with your OT, you can collect Star Pieces to summon it, which you can buy from the GTS Item Market or possibly randomly get through Rumbling if you’re lucky.
