Tbh, idrc about whether the anime I'm watching is subbed or dubbed
most of the time, with some exceptions, like panty and stocking
with garterbelt (dubbed), sonic x (subbed), and lucky star (both).
It just really depends on the anime I'm watching.
This post isn't meant to spark a sub vs dub debate, but rather
express your preferences and opinions on them.
Generally I watch animes in japanese with english sub, because most
of the time I really dont like the english or german voices. There
are some exceptions to it, like Fullmetal Alchemist or Elfen Lied,
where I watched the german dub as a teenager and they are still
great to this day. (In comparison, I think the german dub of Naruto
is just terrible)
To be honest, I prefer to watch any movie, series, or anime only in
dubbing. This is especially true for anime, as my Japanese language
skills are at an elementary level at the moment. It is for this
reason that I prefer to watch content through soap2day, as
almost every material has both original translation and
professional dubbing. Although it's probably worth trying to watch
this content in the original translation with subtitles, it will
allow you to develop your Japanese language learning skills.
I prefer sub over dub. I think most shows sound better with the
original voices. Their mouths align with what they are saying. Most
animes also have terrible or weird English dubs and the character's
mouths not matching with the voices bug me.
I prefer the sub, for the most part. I need a certain amount of
input to fully pay attention to something. The audio doesn't quite
hit that and I usually end up zoned out. Having words on the screen
to read through really helps me to pay attention, because- words,
y'know? This is also why I always have close captioning on when I'm
watching anything, even if it is in English. Keeps the focus where
it needs to be.
to be aesthetic or not to be aesthetic
that is not a question because I am not aesthetic at all and nor is
