“Tut tut Atticus… you shouldn’t underestimate anyone, not even
someone like me. I didn’t know you had such background y’know… this
is interesting.” Mew gloated and hopped from shadow to shadow
behind and around Atticus.”people like me can still step out of
their comfort zone, underestimating people will just come back
around and hit you in the face.”
“Hey hey hey, you might wanna calm down, or is the sight of your
‘lover’ too much for you?” Mew dropped through another shadow and
appeared behind Atticus, she used telekinesis to make the knife in
Atticus’ hands flying above him head. In truth, she found this body
very uncomfortable, but well, to keep the little facade going, it
was worth it.
Mew kicked Soel’s body a little, telling him to get up, she
concentrated her mind and kept the knife levitating, while slowly
but steadily moving Soel’s body away little by little. Mew could
control multiple objects at once, but the heavier it is, the slower
she is at doing so, that’s why she hardly ever moves human bodies
around.
The kick wasn’t very light but Mew didn’t really stagger much,
instead she just took a step back, she forced the knife out of
Atticus’ hands again and flung it away, far away, no idea where it
even landed. Mew smiled. “Aren’t you very happy to see him.” She
danced away from him, and then slowly levitated Soel’s body an inch
about the ground, a bead of sweat was falling from her face and she
moved his body back into the void, where Atticus or Shirin could
reach him. “Hehe”
"...Shut the fxck up you two! What do you think you two are doing
throwing me like a corpse in between a game of monkey in the
middle!"
Soel roared out of anger. He used his cane and stabbed Atticus in
the stomach with it, before kicking him away. Before bonking Mew in
the head in retaliation for kicking him earlier.
Atticus grimaced in pain, blood staining his silk shirt. He didn’t
tank damage, he was supposed to quietly take the vitality from
people, so anytime he was hurt was a severe set back.
" I know that you're
sh**ty and you're bad for me, but I can't stop thinking 'bout
it."
“Oi! Be grateful ok? You didn’t help at all.” Mew retorted. That
ungrateful hair losing dude. Sheesh, at least thank her because he
stopped Atticus from stabbing him. Mew sighed and popped through
Atticus’ shadow and kicked him on the small of his back.
Atticus winced, but returned the damage with a spinning kick. He
placed his hands on the ground, drawing vitality from the grass
that was withering on the spot. His prosthetic began to whirr
again.
" I know that you're
sh**ty and you're bad for me, but I can't stop thinking 'bout
it."
Soel stretched lazily beneath the sunlight, the previous knife
wound on his neck quickly disappears. If anything, Soel looked more
healthy and nourished than before.
" Yea right. Even if he stabbed me 100 times, I still wouldn't
die." Soel rebucked, and just watched the two went for tit for tat
leisurely.
The metal on the prosthetic arm spread, covering the top left half
of Atticus’s body. He rammed up against Soel, blocking the sunlight
and kicking away the staff.
" I know that you're
sh**ty and you're bad for me, but I can't stop thinking 'bout
it."
Soel tsks, and rolled out the range from Atticus's armor, and back
onto the sunlight, before swiftly getting back on his feet. With a
snap of his fingers, the cane teleported back into his hands, and
with it, with absolutely no mercy, he rammed it against the other's
back.
"I told you, that won't work on me. Or are all elders these days,
just hardheaded?"
Atticus gasped for air and staggered away. The metal shrank back to
just the arm. His shirt was bloody at the areas Soel had hit him
in. Where was Shirin when he needed her?
He lunged at the other, sucking color out of him, trying to go
faster than the other could heal.
" I know that you're
sh**ty and you're bad for me, but I can't stop thinking 'bout
it."
As much as Soel hated playing 2v1, it wasn't as if he could even
stop Mew from doing what she wanted. At best, he could only pity
Atticus for having to deal with the two of them at the same
time.
"Truly, it's a pity."
Soel remarked as he slightly turned his body sideways, as he dodged
the hand that was coming straight towards him, and instead grabbed
it by the arm and flipped Atticus over with an overhead throw,
pinning the other person down, despite the fact that Atticus could
use this moment to squeeze the living colors out of him.
Atticus winced, it was clear that he hadn’t been treating the
wounds from his last battle, wounds were reopening. His other hand
tried to take Soel’s color as Atticus struggled for the upper hand.
" I know that you're
sh**ty and you're bad for me, but I can't stop thinking 'bout
it."
Shirin stood over the two grappling idiots, annoyed that this
battle had devolved so far while she was on a coffee break. She
kicked Soel's head hard, blood trickling out of the now open wound.
A groan of pain told Shirin she had aimed true. She used her arrows
to create a net of starlight, harnassing the energy of the night so
he wouldn't be able to photosynthesize. The arrows Mew redirected
slammed into Atticus's back, rejuvinating him with their endless
color.
"Mew, I see you still haven't bothered to learn the laws of
physics. Thank you for your timely aid." She glared into the
distance at the identity thief's fading form. Honestly. She could
wear anyone's face, but Shirin wasn't even sure the girl could
solve for x in an algebraic equation.
"And as for you two lovebirds, either act like civilized
adversaries, or kiss already. No more of this uncouth wrestling
business." She put her free hand on her hip, notching an arrow
above Soel's head. "Or, I could just send you back to the darkness
where you belong, Soel."
