"What do you mean, you are not from this timeline either?"
"I don't know. I just know I am not. At least it makes the most sense."
"True. Else time would not try to fix us."
"... what are we supposed to do now?"
"One of us has to leave." Lean takes off her hat that appeared because of her costume change.
"... well, Selaphiel seems to like you a lot more than me and I guess the King has some ties to you, so... I guess I drew the short straw." Iteral sighs, looking away.
"You do know that we only have to keep a certain distance. As soon as you are further away, it will stop."
"I know but... I am more a liability to you all than anything."
"I am sure you are not. You are just troubled. I trust in you to find your own path. Maybe soon discover your past."
"... I hope so too. Do you have something to keep in touch?"
"Well, I know radios do not exist here yet... but I have these." She pulls out two stones, both with identical paintings. "Sending stones. You know those?"
"I think so. I recall them from a past adventure."
"I'll tell you, when you can reclaim your spot. Then just clock back in. I'm not replacing you, I am just making sure Caspian is safe for the time being."
"... sure. I'll take a leave, I guess. Overshadowed by myself..."
"You are not overshadowed. Soon, they will beg for you to return. Trust me." Lean tried to talk some confidence into her, smiling.
Afterwards, Iteral takes out a clock and waves everyone an unenthusiastic goodbye. "Thanks for... tolerating me for so long." And with that, and a clock chime, she vanished.
Lean... looks at the others, a little embarrassed by the events. "I suppose I could elaborate what just happened another time? Now, I think it is time for rest. Don't worry, I'll make sure to treat you no less than when I treated King Caspian. If you all would follow me to your rooms for tonight..."

You know the first rule in combat? Shoot them before they shoot you.
"Which one..."

he touched the memory, and once again, they were transported.
the sun was setting on a blood-soaked battlefield. Corpses lay, piled up, all around, as kendo stood in the middle of the field, panting and gasping for breath, holding a sword, dripping with blood, and a jagged, cracked bone, stained with the rusty-red color of blood. The current kendo stood next to Aret.
"Ah, the battlefield. You know, I alone killed all of these men."

The current Kendo looked around, before picking up a piece of faded fabric.
"The Holy Church."
He rubbed the fabric, brushing the dust off.
"They got in my way, so I destroyed them. Simple as that."

He tapped the memory, this time they were transported to a void of white nothingness. This time, instead of the corpses humans, it was... angels. Kendo in this memory stood in front of a giant gateway, holding a bloodied, cursed knife.
"Ah, this one."
