A normal day. The usual fights, usual robberies. Nothing much to say, really.

Athena leaned against the hard concrete wall in her red hoodie, people watching. She'd already done her daily job - scavenge some food and supplies. Now was her time off. Her lips twitched in a small smile when she heard someone mention the Lady in Red. They would never know it was her, even with all the hints she dropped. She wore the exact same shade of red as the famous thief, and the name she introduced herself as was Phoenix, and phoenixes were red. She enjoyed listening to people telling stories of the Lady, whether with fear, or with awe, or with envy. It was nice to know what the general public thought of her.
The reason of my existence?
To annoy you.

Or is it the other way around?

A lone figure bikes through the empty, deserted streets of a city. A thin line of ice and a long, spotted-orange tail trail behind him. His brown hair flowed in the wind, tied into a ponytail. His mouth was set in a lazy smirk, his scarlet eyes observing the terrain. He stopped the bike, before getting off. The bike fell over. The man closed his eyes letting out a deep sigh. When he opened his eyes frost had started to inch across his body. His tan skin started to turn white. A trident made of ice formed in his hands. He started to whistle as he walked.

The tune he whistled was a jolly, wistful tune, often sung by the pirates of old. he absentmindedly spun the trident in his hands as he walked along. His eyes darted around, clearly looking for someone. His lazy smirk and his warm scarlet eyes hid a bead of malice, a hint of danger. The aura he held around him was friendly, and warm, like the heat given off by a fireplace, completely contrary to his physical form, constantly chilled and cold due to the properties of his ability, which gave his body the properties of ice.

Someone had tried to steal some of Athena's food. They quickly regretted it. It had caused quite some commotion, and most people were staying far far away from Athena now. Not that she minded. She just wanted to live, not make friends.

He put his arms behind him, as he studied the girl carefully. his scarlet eyes glanced her over, his lazy smirk returning.

Athena kept warily out of reach. "Fine, Kendo, how are you today?" Her eyes weren't on him, but a man lumbering towards them in the distance. Looks like he wanted her food as well.

"Everyone wants food these days." Technically she could read his mind, but that wasn't nice, and even she respected people's privacy. At least with her friends. Or kind-of-friends, at least. She tossed him some bread and then crouched. The man was within a few paces.

The man was reaching out... She spun around and kicked him, making him fall to the ground. He got back up growling with rage, and swiped clumsily at her. Easily dodging all of those, she kicked him again, and he fell down again, harder this time, banging his head on a sewer grate. It took him quite a few moments to get up, and hastily make a retreat.

Athena leaned back on the wall, oblivious to all the stares and whispers. They should really learn and upgrade next time, at least bring a gun or something.
