It was a fair day on Olympus. Everyone was going about their daily lives, as they had for so long. Too long. There were no prayers to answer, offerings to collect. There wasn't even much entertainment from watching the mortals. It wasn't right, but what could they do? Humanity had moved on, marked them as an item of the past. But they were very much present.


Athena sighed as she went over the map again. This was getting old, she'd already plotted 54,093 ways to attack and win. None of which she could actually test out, or advise the mortals with. They weren't worthy, fighting all the time. Of course, back in her time mortals fought all the time, but there were heroes, true heroes, and legends worth remembering. Now mortals just rained bullets on each other, dropped bombs, destroying the environment and innocent civilians. They fought with greed, not honor. If only she could go back in time...

Hestia sighed almost as loud as Athena. She still watched over the mortals, but they had started to forget the happiness of their families, gratitude, and such. They were glued to their tiny screens, ignoring everything. She wished that they would actually realize that what they needed and loved most was right in front of them. But of course, Zeus had forbidden any contact with mortals. She wished that they would take such 2 months, and correct their wrongs. But she felt like fading away. What was the point of being the goddess of the heart, family, and gratitude if the mortals were too busy to care?

She wished that it would be like in the past, when the Greeks actually cared, when they worshipped the gods and their families. When they spent quality time together around the hearth, laughing, and being grateful. The mortals these days did the worst of things: bought greasy and disgusting fast food, ate in their rooms separately, punished wrong mistakes too far, and worst of all, they said some very bad things to each other. What was the point of living if they did this all? What was the reason that Zeus didn't let her just fade away? After all, none of the gods needed her anymore.

Hermes laughed as he watched the mortals. How funny their antics were! This webpage, this so-called 'MeTube' page was the greatest thing humans had invented since Mountain Dew and Coffee! He did not have the same worries as the other gods. Unlike them, he would always exist. He was the god of travelers, and everyone travels, no matter who you are. For now, he kicked back and relaxed.

Athena went out to take a walk. There was really no point in being the goddess of wisdom and warfare if mortals fought without purpose, or for a cause that was illogical and nonsensical. Hermes and Dionysus were lucky, their domains were still appreciated by mortals, maybe even more so now. Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon at least still ruled over their domains, they just didn't get as much credit and recognition, a fact that really make Zeus mad. Personally, she wouldn't care if the mortals worshipped or appreciated her, but now they didn't even care about her domain. Occasionally of course, there would be genius inventors or people that truly appreciated wisdom, and she would do her best to guide them. But they were rare. Very very rare.

Despite Zeus being the king, He had dwindled in strength over time, and Hermes had only gotten stronger. Hermes was now at the point where he could defeat the formidable Artemis in a one on one fight. He sipped from his cup. He was powerful and influential, running the largest goods trading company in the world, Amazonia. There was little he did not know.

The current state of Olympus was seriously worrying. The gods' power was extremely unbalanced, and the mortals didn't even acknowledge that they existed. They didn't even respect them, stealing her most important statue! She found her feet taking her towards Hermes's palace. He was always someone who would listen, even though she feared that he was becoming corrupted with all the influence and power he now held. And it was only growing. He used to be a background god, not overlooked or ignored, but not strong and outspoken either. Even though his personality hadn't changed, he was getting more and more recognized...

Hermes sighed. He was really acting like a bad disney villain, wasn't he? He laughed slightly. Athena was coming. She seemed to visit his place pretty frequently recently.

Athena walked up to the gates of Hermes's palace. The guards bowed and let her pass. The gate swung open of its own accord. Reaching the doors of the throne room, Athena paused and knocked.

"I..." Now that she was here, she didn't really know either. She'd pretty much just wandered this way, and was lost in thought most of the journey. She had said she wasn't coming, hadn't she? It wouldn't be befitting for a goddess like her to just confess that she thought Olympus was dying. "I guess that I was bored, and most of the other gods are busy." It wasn't a complete lie, after all, the other gods were busy and she was bored. It just wasn't the real reason she came.
