u need 50k to unlock the gem cauldron, not gems
but to answer ur qn, the best way is doing dp tasks and sending plushies, every 5 dp spent == 1 random gem

can I ask what is in the gem pot? is a gem pot and berry booth worth buying? sorry if this is annoying

The gem pot is to get mega stones, which cost 5 gems of every type per one mega stone. It's also 50k PD to unlock the pot. The berry booth is worth buying to complete the berry garden tutorial, and to sell/buy berries and ingredients.
