Y'know those Sky Battles in XY where you can only fight if you have flying/levitating Pokémon? Would be cool to have a Gym like that- would definitely annoy challengers though lol. Could also make an interesting looking arena, like an open stadium with no floor.

I think it would be cool if, instead of single-type gyms, Pokémon games started using dual-type gyms—meaning that instead of every Pokémon in a gym needing to have the one type the gym stands for, every Pokémon in the gym would have to have one or both of the two types that the gym stands for—and had nine gyms instead of eight, so that every type could be represented in a gym.

I recently put together a dual-type Dragon/Dark team in Pokémon Y for my first time EV training a team (except for my starter, whose EVs were of course already maxed as I’d beaten the game by the time I did this). I think it would be cool if gym leaders followed this model, where every one of their Pokémon has to have at least one of the two types and their strongest Pokémon has to have both of the types that the gym stands for, to represent how well they do together :)

My Dragon/Dark team was this: Hydreigon embodying both types, and then three other Dragon Pokémon—Altaria, Druddigon, and Goodra—and two other Dark Pokémon—Absol and Greninja.
