I did try at the beginning of the event but it showed that Gothi would be shiny but no mega evolution from pokeradar, I'm wondering if that changed or is still the same and Gothitelle can be shiny mega? Thanks

For new megas, they become available to be hatched normally a little while after the event distribution. So not right now, but soon you can shiny mega hunt Gothitelle!

For occassions like this, it's best to subscribe to the Minor Updates threads. Stuff like breedable Megas or Event Pokemon in Event Shop are usually announced there :)
