"Great to hear!" Theo smiled, walking to them. "Which way would we be going?"

"Well, I did just remember about the opening ceremony, so we'll have to stay around here." Ren took out his Rotom Phone. "At least the ceremony's tonight."

Ren glanced up at the sky. "It's midday right now so... I would say the ceremony would start around a couple of hours."

Theo tilted their head, wondering something. "Hey Ren, who's in your team anyways?"

He turned to Theo, nodding. "That's right, I haven't introduced them to you. Well, Viola knows two of them."

Ren threw a pokeball and a great ball out.

From the pokeball was a Dreadnaw, who looked around curiously and from the greatball came a Rapidash, but it wasn't the one found in Kanto, instead was the Galar form.

"Dreadnaw might snap at you if you get too close." Ren pointed out, looking at the rock/water type carefully. "As for Rapidash, well Viola, you'd be interested to know it's a psychic and fairy type."

Theo drew their hand away, having almost approached the Dreadnaw before hearing Ren's warning.

Theo tilted their head. "How long have you been a trainer?"

Ren shrugged. "For a bit, I just haven't thought about doing the challenge again anymore." A sad look crossed his face.

Rapidash lowered its head, its gaze fixed on her before glancing slightly at Ren.

"Oh right!" Ren took two spare pokeballs, handing them to Viola and Theo. "These Ponyta actually don't have anywhere to go, so I was thinking you both could take care of them."

Theo held the pokeball thoughtfully, nodding.

He shrugged. "Kinda a long story how these Ponyta ended up with me." Ren checked his watch and nodded. "Just about two hours... I know before then, like around thirty minutes before, you gotta get yourself checked into the ceremony."

Rapidash gave Viola and Theo a calm look before strolling back over to Ren.

"Like before, you'll be at that same desk, not sure if the same guy's gonna be there, but just let whoever's there know you've already registered." he explained, returning Rapidash. "It doesn't have to be now of course, as long as it's anytime before the ceremony."

Theo sighed, glancing at Ren. "There are gonna be a lot of people, right?"

Ren put a hand on their shoulder, giving him a guilty look. "My friend, you don't have to go if the crowd's gonna be too much for you."
