Buraddo Jemu
Majikaruman Dōseiai-shadearimasu
I glared back coldly in response. "Tell your girlfriend to keep away from Hisoka." I imitated her unnerving smile. "Kay, sweety?"
Hisoka Yamanaku
Everything seemed to go by in a blur. Koda's snarky comments. Majikaruman joining them. Arguing as they walked to the cafeteria. Hisoka had retreated to the depths of his mind, and curled in the shadows like the child he was. No words could reach him, yet no silence could wrap around his ears. Merely company and noise, never to be silent, silent, again.
Hisoka hated silence.
Then, Majikaruman parted. And Hisoka was trapped by the shadows.
"Hold on!" He called. His limbs barely moved. But moved they did, and he came around the bend to see Kowai and Majikaruman glaring at each other.
He haulted. Kowai... Anger flooded his cheeks. "What're you two doing alone?" He asked.
Suko Nobu
Suko had not become lost. No, they lived in the moment. And this moment was all too fascinating to witness!
They hummed a cheery tune under their breath. "So, you and Kowai, huh?" they asked Koda, voice full of mischief. "You'll even door-face Hisoka for her?" They sniffled. "So noble! Such pure love. I take back what I said about your Romeo-Syndrome. Juliet with you is superior to Rosaline in every way!"
"But, I'd Door-Face Hisoka for like, anyone." She snorted. I'd door-face anyone for Kowai. Even you. Koda thought.
She heard Maji. Her eyes narrowed. "As for Maji, I'd say he's head-over-heels for a certain someone." Koda spoke loudly, deliberately loud enough for him to hear.
Hisoka Yamanaku
Hisoka faltered, temporarily immoblized by confusion. Had he missed some very important series of events? No, surely not... just a few arguments, right?
"Her... girlfriend?" He ventured hesitantly. "Do you mean Koda? Or Nakata?" His mind ran through a list of females who mighr subject themselves to Kowai's lunacy. Admittedly, there shouldn't be that many, but this school wasn't exactly full of ordinary people. "Not Megami or Suzume, I hope? Those two are much too sensible. And I thought they were-" he broke off. "You mean Koda. Koda threatened me."
His pulse was going too fast. He couldn't meet Majikaruman in the eyes. He instead focused on the collar of his shirt.
Majikaruman had a nice one, very ruffly. He briefly admired it, then glanced at Kowai. She was seething. He hadn't seen genuine anger on her in daylight hours.
How odd. Did she actually care for Koda? He didn't think that was possible.
Suko Nobu
Suko winced, mockingly. "Ouch. That stings, eh?"
They giggled loudly. So, Kowai was a new friend! Good to know! More people to torment!
Hisoka Yamanaku
"No," Hisoka agreed. His brain was running on a single AA battery. "No. That would not be ideal whatsoever."
So. Koda threatened to hit him with a door. Kowai wanted to as well. Well, that wasn't exactly a surprise, but it did hurt. One thing was surprising, though. "You stood up for me?" He asked. He didn't think Majikaruman was the type for heroics. He seemed like the kind who only cared for a few people- or no one at all.
And they didn't know each other well. Of course... he must've read somebody wrong again. Like Kowai, who even now was close to the point of grinding her teeth.
"Thank you," he said quietly. The words were vulnerable. Kowai stood right there. But Majikaruma deserved to hear them. To understand that he was inherently good, and another recognized it in him.
His heart tightened again.
Suko Nobu
"Good to hear!" Yeesh, we've known each other for like, two days. I hope she doesn't break my bones or anything. They actually shuddered. Ahhh, I love my new friends. This'll be an awesome way to die.
Hisoka Yamanaku
Hisoka's heart thudded in his chest. "Hey," he asked. "Do you... want to eat together?" He cursed it out right after. Yamanakus did not act like that. They ordered, not asked.
For once in his life, Hisoka found he didn't care. It frightened him, but...
"I can show you some things in my bag," he offered. "I have a ring I've been working on for a while. It's important to me. I'd like to show you."
Suko Nobu
"Don't worry!" Suko assured her. "I believe you! And even if you were, it'd just be awesome since you could kill people who're mean to your bestie Suko!"
They laughed, too loudly. MonsterBrat's head popped out of a room and stared at them. They toothily grinned back and waved. The head vanished a moment later. He can't stand my greatness.
"Sooo!" They put their hads behind their back and leaned into Koda. "You and Kowai, eh?"
Third Person POV
Hisoka nodded, hiking his bag up on his shoulder. He lead Majikaruman to the cafeteria, took a cleaner table, and sat down. They were right by a window. The sea gazed at the two figures, sitting opposite each other, the taller of the two emptying out a leather bag.
Books, pencils, notebooks- every sort of thing landed on the table. One notebook was curiously labelled: "Hope's Peak Notes." Others were things such as: "People", or "Timeline", and one read "Rules of Being a Yamanaku". A pearl ring curled on the cover.
Hisoka plucked it up and offered it to Majikaruman. It was perfect- intricate details were woven into every curving shape, pearls embedded in entwined crevices, all centering an enormous crevice in the center.
He watched them carefully. "What do you think?"
Third Person POV
Hisoka barked a laugh. "Hmph! You never fail to surprise." He tried to hide a smile. "You're familiar with pearls, then?" He tapped the ring. "Although... to be fully honest, this one's a fake. One of the best forgeries I've ever met. So good, that it is in art form in itself."
He smiled at Majikaruman. "If you want, you can try it on. It won't break. It's not as old as it looks. Several craftsman tricked each other into making it, more likely than not- it's as durable as any piece that's spent decades in a collection might."
He shook his head a little fondly.
"My father thought it was real. He believed many things." A dark look took over his eyes. "But he always cared. He gave this to me, thinking it was a family treasure. I never did tell him."
Suko Nobu
"Suspicious." Suko "booped" her on the nose. "I'll change that, if it's the last thing I do!"
