"D'you- not remember?" They were a little concerned.
"I panicked, carried you over to Amano- and they said that I should carry you to you dorm. So yeah. Here you are."
"How're you feeling-? D'you need anything-?" Keiki asked.
Third Person POV
Niwa blinked slowly. "They? But... I thought Amano was a he, y'know like us..." The ends of his fingers twitched as if they longed to take notes. "Am.... wrong?"
Keiki hesitated.
"I-...when I'm unsure of a person's...pronouns or gender- I automatically say 'they.' Habit of mine- I'm sorry." Keiki paused. "And- I'm too socially anxious to ask as well...poses a bit of a problem doesn't it-"
Keiki flushed.
"...Niwa-"
They winced.
"I-uh...I'm not a...he-..?"
Niwa Atsushi
Not a he. Not a he. Not a he.
"Oh my god!" he burst out. "I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry-!" What a stupid mistake- oh my god, and look at Keiki's face! He-, no, they must be feeling-
His heart clenched with guilt. Oh my god. How had he done this? So... He shouldn't have been...
"I'm so sorry," he said softly. "I didn't- I didn't realize."
Keiki paled.
"...yeah. It's fine- it happens." Keiki whispered.
"I- uh...I'm genderfluid..." ....
"My parents didn't react too well about that- heh....I suppose that's why I was chucked out...they were stupid, anyways." Keiki whispered quietly.
"So yeah-!" Keiki said loudly, clearing their throat.
"I...I-I'm not a he.."
Keiki's eyes watered.
Third Person POV
"I'm so sorry." Niwa wrang out his hands. "I... I shouldn't- I mean. I don't..." He tugged on the edge of the mattress. "I'm so sorry. I was stupid. So stupid- I can't... I shouldn't have, I mean..."
He didn't know what to say. He kept looking back and forth between Keiki and the door.
Third Person POV
Niwa, after a moment of hesitation, opened his arms.
"Do you... want a hug?" he asked softly. "I mean- I don't know. I just... if you want one, then I can give you one. If it'll make you feel better. I don't want to pressure you..."
Third Person POV
Niwa returned the hug, squeezing them tightly. His heart was pounding in his chest, on the other side of Keiki's. He rested his chin on their shoulder. "I really am sorry," he said softly.
Amano Tetsuo
A Mono-bot was sneaking up on Buraddo! Amano got it with a swat of his soup ladle. He took a stance against a table, watching closely as the Mono-bots crept closer. Hundreds and hundreds were aiming right for him and-
"Oh, puhuhuuuhhu~ What's this?"
All the little demons fell over as abruptly as if a tap had been cut off.
Narrator
The bear stepped delicately over the sea of his children. "Go." His smirk spread wider as the bots hurried to his command, legless and armless ones scrabbling after the whole ones. Even a limbless one twitched on the floor, wriggling to the door.
Amano stepped towards the Headmaster. "What do you want?" he asked. Impressively, his voice only trembled slightly. The dark shadows were back in his eyes, but the light in them still remained. "Are you going to force us to kill each other again?"
"Force you?" Monokuma gasped. "O-Oh, my students, you really know how to sting this old bear's heart..." He sniffled a bit. "But I suppose you're right!" He perked up. "I'm here regarding the next murder."
She grinned, standing up, dusting off the metal parts that were on her clothes. She too, had kept the bots at bay, only quietly and discreetly.
"Next murder? Do tell~" Akihiro purred. "Has anyone else died, or-?"
I do hope someone's dead.
Narrator
Monokuma's eyes gleamed. "I'm here to invite you to our wonderful Prelude. The very first..." He leapt up. "Despairful Motive Showing! Where you get your lovely motives for murder presented at the 0900, and prepare your very own murder!"
The bear cackled. "So wonderful, yes? You must be looking quite forward to it already?"
"A... motive showing?" Amano said slowly. "What's that supposed to be about...?"
Monokuma pouted, clearly not liking the lack of enthusiasm. "Are you not even listening to me? That's hurtful!"
Narrator
"Puhuhuhuuhu~ I thought you'd say something like that, Akihiro, dear!" Monokuma clapped his paws together. "Well, I've delivered my message! See you later~ Bear well~! Puhuhuhuuh!" He popped out of existence.
All the monsters were gone and in the carnage, the mood had somehow grown even darker.
Amano's hands clenched by his sides. Hisoka was rendered speechless. Suko, standing in the doorway- WAIT A FLIPPING SECOND.
"What happened here?" Suko asked.
Akihiro smiled sweetly.
"Now, that's all done with...what now-? Plotting murder...getting murder, perhaps Hero, dear? Yes, yes. I do agree with you, plotting murder sounds far more fun!" She laughed.
"Oh, Hero- everyone's going to think I'm bonkers, talking to you. Well, myself, basically. First impressions do matter-"
Hero smiled grew wider.
Narrator
"This is horrible." Amano's eyes glistened. "I- can't imagine- What could drive us to...?" He ducked his head self-consciously. That point was worn out long before Chika chose to kill Nagisa. Even Amano knew that by now.
"He didn't say attendance was mandatory," Hisoka said thoughtfully. "Perhaps he's correct not to do so, though. The people attending will no doubt read the unattended motives."
Amano's eyes narrowed. "I'm not going for a stupid reason like that."
"I'm not talking to you."
Amano scoffed and turned away, facing the others. "So? You going?"
They shook their head frantically. "Nope. No way- I don't want a motive to kill someone-" Keiki shuddered. "I'm definitely not going-"
Keiki looked around. "Anyone else-....who's not going-?." They blinked. "...I mean- there are other places to go-right?"
