"I told her to kill him, Maji." The confession was feather light, but as raw and huge as a razored corpse. "I told Kowai to kill Femi. To save you. And- I also did it to save me."

The air was calm. The light had gone out.

No more Yamanakus left in the school.

I stood, frozen, still holding him up. I tried to think and figure out what to say, but every thought was muted and gone.

Maji didn't say a word. That was his answer. Honest hatred- he could live with that. But he couldn't live with having lied to Maji about who he was.

Could you really live with either, Hisoka?

His sister's voice. Chiming like a bell, a sweet flutter. A lost hand. A girl thrown down the fire escape. A pool of blood starting on metal. A sweet sweet lie flowing from his lips, the first time anyone had ever told him the truth.

She was dead.

And he killed her, but no, he said he didn't.

And now he'd finally admitted to it.

He'd killed Femi. And he'd also killed his sister, the only person in the world who had trusted him.the way Maji had.

He didmn't want to kill Maji.

He loosened Maji's slack arms and took a step back. He took in Maji, a lump forming in his throat. Lax arms. White mask. Red hair, that he knew was soft and was also something he had no right to know. Everything.

And then he turned on his heel and fled.

"And... there.. the... last-" Suko gave a dying gasp. "Thingy.." They eyed the completed tray of darts. Something elated floated in their chest.

"WE'RE FREE FROM THE TYRANNY OF OUR OWN DECISIONS!" Suko threw their arms around Koda and screamed at the top of their lungs. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! OOHFF-" They accidentally slipped off the edge of their chair and tumbled to the ground. "HISOKA DID IT! AVENGE MEEEE, KODAAA-"

They then pretended to pass out.

Their lungs very much hated them.

And thus you run away, leaving the man you love far, far behind? What a coward you are. A high pitched voice squealed with delight. You know, I've always kinda known you were pathetic, "Soka". But this just takes the cake.

"Shut up, Kowai," he muttered. He saw her grinning face in the back of his mind, smiling right down to the end. Half of it was scorched off. Her smile was black teeth.

You know it's true~ I'm always here with you, Hisoka. You're not alone, even with these fools. Because I understand that you're a monster. Just like me!

He remembered her saying that. Just before Monokuma brought the pavel down. The thought made him sick.

How tailored she made her words. How subtle were her expressions.

"I've been thinking about it some more, Keiki, and-"

Hisoka froze, too late, as Niwa and Keiki turned the corner. Niwa's babble cut off and his eyes went round as they landed on Hisoka.

He scowled at the Ultimate Poet. "What do you want?"

Suzume nodded, looking uncharacteristically happy. "Alright. Let's go see how it's going!" And thus, Suzume made her way to the room, with Megami, that Suko occupied, and immediately found herself staring in shock. "How's it-- What's with Suko?!" she asked, her eyes wide.

Is it normal for them to be collapsed on the floor like that? "We should probably get them to the... Nurse's Office." Suzume paused after she said it. The words tasted sour in her mouth. Oh, right. The place we brought someone else. Namely their boyfriend. Then he died anyway.

She grabbed Suko and lifted them up from the other end. No. That wasn't going to happen again, right? Suko would be okay... "Koda, would you like to come with us?" She could barely get the words out of her mouth.

They smiled at Suzume and shook their head. Even the movement made their skull feel like it was cracking open. A headache blossomed out.
