Daffy mutely did just that, nuzzling into the back of her hair as soon as she'd latched on.

Alexander stood in front of her, not meeting her eyes. "So, we know where we're headed, now. That's something." He deliberately looked away and cleared his throat. "We can probably split up soon. I guess I'll take the kid, unless you want her."

Alexander slowed to a walk. Beside him, Daffy walked beside him, chatting his ear off. He sighed and stuffed his hands in his pockets. He glanced back at Genya... something flickered in his gaze. Something resembling hurt. Then he looked back forward and continued walking, only nodding now and then as Daffy asked a question.
