Isla propped themself up on the wall. They took in a deep, shuddering breath.

Okay. Time to get out of here.

Isla squeezed their eyes shut, concentrating... there had been a window at some point. That was their salvation.

Suddenly, they snapped to attention. Someone was coming.

They looked around themself wildly-

And their eyes landed on a closet.

Isla fitted themself in the closet. They peered through the small crack- then withheld a gasp of shock.

They heard someone. They definitely heard someone.

Someone was walking through the hall.

But no one was there.

The footsteps continued down the hallway. Suddenly, they stopped, right in front of where Isla was hiding.

Isla choked.

Carefully, slowly, she closed her eyes and thought of the move to use...

Grian had escaped the lab without everyone else. He was trying to track down where Zhao could have been. The others had gone off in some other direction while he snuck out with supplies. If he was fused with a pokemon, that would bring up some questions. Could he use moves? If so, could he use TMs? This was confusing but he had to focus on what he would do. Zhao must have abandoned the project if they all made it out alive. He trudged on through the desert, following a trail of footsteps.
