Floyd raised his hands above his head and began to slowly back away.

The Poochyene gave a cry and fell onto its side, scrabbling away through the dirt. A howl was starting in its throat.

As it did so, a very, very loud growling was starting in the bushes.

Floyd looked down.

Looked up.

A Mightyena leapt past the Poochyena and dropped into a crouch, a deadly snarl starting in its throat.

"I guess- that's mom-" Floyd chuckled nervously. "So, should we run now-?"

The Mightyena snarled at Samyan, tearing its eyes off the others. The Poochyena whimpered between its paws.

I turned back quickly and had a light spark in my hand. "Let's see..." In one motion, I lightly pressed my hand on the Poochyena's stomach. I watched as the damage quickly repaired itself. "There ya go, bud."

Floyd cocked his head to the side. The Poochyena did it in sync. It gave a hesitant "arooof"? The Mightyena stepped off the baby and growled, sounding a little uncertain.

The Mightyena lunged forward an inch from their face. "RAWF!" it barked. The Poochyena yelped and scrambled back, fitting itself between its mothers two front paws, looking up at them with wide, scared eyes.

The Poochyena wriggled out from its mother's legs. She gave a warning woof but it skittered up to Zuzu and dropped into a bow. "Arooof?" It asked, poking its tiny nose up into the air.
