Marcus quickly grabbed his things and ran after the others. His Pokemon, and the robo-Pidgey, followed. Once they had run far enough Marcus collapsed on the ground, panting with exhaustion. There was no sign of pursuit from Billy-Bob and Sarah-Sue.

"I think we did it" Said Pete resting against a tree. He felt like he was about to die from all the running. "Well, that wasn't easy" Pete said between breaths "Maybe we should train a bit more so next time we encounter those rednecks we can kick some serious ass! By the way-" Pete started rummaging his bag. The cube was still inside the bag 'Thank god they didn't took it' "The cube is still here" Pete took it out and showed it to the rest of the gang. "This thing is dangerous. We have to take it to somewhere safe don't you think?"

"I agree. First it came out of a vortex and now this? I don't like it... maybe we could let an expert examine it... maybe one of the professors? What do you guys think?" Viper asked her two human companions. Evee was curled up in her arms, resting after her fight. "Also, has anyone noticed that a pidgey is trailing us?" Viper asked.

The robotic Pidgey saw its chance when Pete took the cube out. It swooped down, right after Viper mentioned it, and swiped the cube out of Pete's hands. It flew away with the cube in its talons.

Marcus watched the bird fly away. "Um, you mean that Pidgey?" he asked Viper.

"W-wh-" Viper shuttered, apparently too shocked to properly say anything. The pidgey had apparently taken the cube from Pete. And she had been helpless the entire time. Memories of her childhood flashed by, before her brain finally stopped them.

"Oh no!! What now? Should we go after the Pidgey or do you want to go to one of the professors?" Pete had mixed feelings about that cube, he was confused as to should they be following that or not.

Viper closed her eyes as she thought about her options. Going after the mysterious box would mean going together with Pete and Marcus, a journey filled with uncertainty. Going to one of the professors would also mean teaming up, but the results could only end up with them winding up in a town, being interrogated. However, if she wanted to, she could strike out alone. But during the past few days, Viper felt safe with them. Eevee was happy to have friends.
"Pete," Viper called out, "I think we shouldn't go around telling people about the cube. I proposed telling the professors after we retain the cube. Marcus, what do you think?"

Marcus thought about their options. He had to agree with Viper, there was no point in telling anyone about the cube if they didn't have it in their possession.

"I think we should start by following the Pidgey," said Marcus looking in the direction the robotic bird flew off, "and we should probably do it now before it gets away."

"Let's go." said Marcus. He then ran in the direction the Pidgey had flown. He assumed the others would follow, but he couldn't afford to wait. The Pidgey and the cube might get away.

Marcus caught up to the Pidgey a short while later. The robotic bird had dropped the cube into the hands of an unshaven, middle aged man. The man's hair was unkempt and he seemed a little...off. He looked at Marcus.

"What do you want child?" he asked. Marcus paused, he was a little nervous about facing this man. He pointed to the cube in the man's hands.

"T...that," he said, "We found it."

"Oh, it's finder's keeper's eh? Nope, It's mine, I helped design it. I lost it when I was trying to test it." The man chuckled for no reason that Marcus could understand. He wasn't sure if he should continue, or leave the cube and the man.

Aron Sieze had just visited Professor Pines and gotten his first Pokemon. He had stopped a few miles from the professor's lab and let out his Squirtle. The two looked at eachother for a few moments before Aron spoke.

"You need a name. How about Mikey?" The squirtle thought for a moment, then nodded. "Great, nice to meet you Mikey. I'm Aron."

"Squirtle." said Mikey.

"Let's go." said Aron, jogging ahead. Squirtle quickly followed.
