Without another word, Tsuji breezed by him, making a beeline for Tashi. He stood overtop the man, green eyes narrowing slightly behind fogged up glasses. He took them, wiping them on the collar of his barely exposed turtleneck, then slipping them back over his face.
He leaned down, examining the burnt flesh. Blackened in parts, white in others, as if chunks had been taken out in the rescue. Rescue... Tsuji looked up at Hijiri. "Where'd you find him? Do you know him?" He blinked owlishly, then glanced back down at the man. "We should probably call an ambulance if you do."
As he spoke, he ran a hand over the exposed red areas on Tashi's cheek. A choking sound came from Tashi's throat, and he retracted it.
"I'll make the call. Hold on."
Third Person POV
Tsuji twitched slightly, though his face remained hidden from where he kneeled next to Quick Silver. "I see. Well." He stood up, withdrawing his phone from his pocket. In a flash he had it out, tapping out a number. It rung. "Hold on, please."
The boy left the room, leaving the two of them alone. In his unconscious state, Tashi's face was set in something rigid- not pained, but more... focused. Almost a little confused.
"Mm... Hijir....i..." he rasped out. "Hijiri... where... are you...?"
Third Person POV
Tashi stirred uneasily. The charred muscles of his brow clenched and he released it with a loud breath. "Who is it?" he whispered, voice cracking as if his lungs internally were as burnt as his poor body. "That's... here with us? Is it-" He broke into a new series of hacking coughs. Blood splattered across the floor.
But he was struggling to push himself up, eyelids fluttering, trying to open. "Is it... Are they... Do they have red hair?" There was something lighter in his broken tone. Something hopeful- desperate, perhaps.
Third Person POV
"A hospital?" Horror creeped into Tashi's tone. "N-No! I can't-" He was struggling to push himself up. "Don't take me!" he begged, head snapping around with a horrible crunching sound as he looked sightlessly at Hijiri. "I can't- Please don't make me-"
His arms were shaking. They couldn't hold him up any longer.
Tashi slumped downward.
"Please-" he rasped. "I can't go to a hospital."
"I've called them." Tsuji appeared in the doorway leading to the kitchen. "They should be here in a few minutes." He was watching the two of them curiously. "Did something happen?"
Hollow was silent as she walked home.
She grasped for her bag.
Her eyes widened.
"Shoot-"
"That little-
Ugh."
Hollow's eyes narrowed.
"Probably looked through my bag, didn't she?"
A grumble rose out of her throat.
"When I get my hands on her...
Hmph."
Eyes blazing, Hollow ran back to the window, and tapped furiously on the window again.
Third Person POV
Tengan hissed through her teeth. "Back already," she growled under her breath. She shuffled through it, replaced most of the contents, and then dropped the match on the article and picture.
She stood up and headed for the window.
Third Person POV
"Nothing besides the usual garbage outside of it," Tengan said cheerfully, smirking a bit at her expression. "Aww, is it something important to you? I didn't realize. I've never sunken to material possessions before."
With a wry laugh that sounded more like a cough, Tengan ushered her away. "Come back later, okay, sweetie? I'm busy right now. I have a plan to make my night guards scream."
Tsuji Katsumi
Tsuji stood very, very still. He watched Hijiri, crouched over the hero. The faintest smile inched his lips upward. That was just like him. Protecting anyone, even the lowest of society.
He started walking toward him. He laid a hand on his shoulder.
"Come now," he said softly. "He's hysterical. We should wait for the Ambulance to come. They'll be here soon."
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw that the "hero" had gone limp. Unconscious, or too terrified to move? Tsuji didn't know him very well. Waging a guess, he released a hint of power in his fingertips. Quick Silver gave an audible shudder.
I see. He nodded to himself, then nudged Hijiri. "We'll wait, then." He made his way across the room and sat down in the dining room chair, crossing his legs.
Nary a moment later, there came a knock at the door.
Tengan
"Oh?" she questioned, smiling. "And why ever would that be?"
"I'll see you later.....maybe." She grimaced and jumped out of the window, landing on the floor and walking off.
Tengan
Tengan unwittingly smiled, watching the younger leave. "Bye," she mouthed. Hollow didn't look back. With a breeze laugh, Tengan spun on her heel and collapsed onto her bed.
A giggle.
She curled up into a ball.
A terrified giggle.
Where was Tashi? Why hadn't he come back? Why wasn't he coming to save her?
Where was her hero?
Tengan couldn't breathe she was laughing so hard. Oh god oh god oh god-
