The person with the white hair narrowed their eyes. "You're in trouble, huh?" A frown settled on their face. At last, they gave a deep relenting sigh. "Fine." They lifted their arm, raising the black fabric with it. They lowered their head, letting the hood slip over their face. "Follow me." They turned around, their cloak fluttering upwards. "And take your friend with you."

The person led them through the forest, not bothering to see if they were following. They turned corners, led them past trees, trotted through clearings and groves. They seemed to have a destination in mind.

Deena's POV

"That's great!" Deena snapped. "Honestly, I could care less what those Palismen are doing! Oh, and also..." Deena paused when they looked at the strange newcomer... It wasn't like there were a lot of options. "Alright. Let's go!"

Lucia's POV

"HEY! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" Lucia yelled. "YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY SO EASILY!" She cast a plant magic spell to bind them all in vines. Deena sighed. "Okay, that may work on a regular witch, but it'll take more than that to-" "Rookie mistake." Lucia snickered. "WHAT?!" Deena shouted, perplexed. They had been about to cast a spell when- Lucia smacked Deena over the head with her Palisman, and Deena was out cold again. She wagged her index finger at her captors. "Wow! I can't believe that worked! Thought they'd be too smart to fall for that one. Anyway, as for the rest of you... come with me right now, or I'll kill you. And if you come with me, I might not kill you."

"Ah. Someone reasonable then! Come along." She slapped the magic handcuffs onto the mysterious stranger, but then she leapt back a bit, should they try something. "And you... aren't going anywhere." She cast the vine-encasing spell on Olivia, and on the very injured Brooksook. "It appears that child might be dead. That's a shame."

The person whipped something out of their cloak and concealed it in their right sleeve... They strutted a few steps forward. "I said go!" they snarled. "Get out of my woods! And give them to me." She narrowed her eyes. "I will make my own assessment of them. You are on my land, and I will not permit you to take them, without my permission.."

Blood oozed from Brooksook's head, spilling out over the vines. She didn't have long left.

Lucia's POV

"You know, I could really care less if this land belongs to you. This, here, is a well-known wanted criminal. And I have to bring them in on accounts of not joining a Coven, stealing, identity theft- and- countless other crimes I don't want to bother to remember! Anyway, why do I need your permission? Doesn't matter." Lucia was about to leave, but luckily, a certain snake Palisman nipped Deena's finger. They jolted awake. "OW!" they screamed. Lucia facepalmed. "Ah, great. So much for the trick."

Deena's POV

"Oh, great. I got knocked out somehow!? Well, time to get out of here-" Lucia tried to bonk them over the head again, which she should've known wouldn't work, because this time, Deena squirmed out of the way. Frederick proceeded to be useful, and blast through the vines encasing them. Lucia let out a frustrated screech. "GET BACK HERE!" She blasted Deena with fire magic, which they dodged, and continuously blasted them with fire. Deena hopped onto their Palisman, and grabbed Brooksook. "GET BACK HERE, RIGHT NOW!" she screamed. "What makes you think I want to listen to that?" Deena asked with a nonchalant shrug. Lucia, in response, hopped onto her own Palisman, and a chase began yet again. Deena patted Brooksook on the head, and struggled to heal her while riding on Frederick at the same time. "Sleep tight, kid. We're in for a long ride."

Lucia's POV

Lucia continuously shot spell after spell at Deena, but this time they were ready, and kept twisting out of the way. Unfortunately for Deena, Frederick was still exhausted (of course), and it was becoming continuously more difficult to dodge. Lucia, in her frustration, did not realize this right away. "GET! BACK! HEREEEEE!" She couldn't have that STUPID Covenless witch get away. She couldn't! Just think of what the higher-ups might do... no. Don't think of that.

Deena's POV

"What do you think they meant by that?" they asked Brooksook in a whisper. Not like now was really the time! Finally, the healing spell was finished. Maybe they could shoot Lucia out of the sky... she seemed out of control. But it had to happen quickly-- Frederick was weakening fast, and-- oh no. It looked like he was going to crash again!!... "Ah, great."

The person plucked something from their cloak, and suddenly, steam rose up in the air, swirling everywhere, pluming in clouds, enveloping its foe. Suddenly, they turned solid and dragged Lucia down to Earth. The person then proceeded to pick something else out from their coat and dropped it into the marsh. The fog slowly began to go pink.

"Wh-what the-?!" Then Lucia screamed incomprehensibly and plummeted to the ground. What was happening!? Was it- that- that strange person from the woods? How could they possibly be so powerful? No- NO! She couldn't fail- not like this-

Deena's POV

"Thanks, strange cloaked ally!" Deena yelled down, seeming to immediately notice that it was them who did it. They heard what sounded like Lucia muttering and screaming incomprehensible curses. They patted Frederick. "You did good, buddy. You did- good." Well. That felt awkward. Now, where had that other kid ran off to?

Suddenly, the pink fog was being sucked towards her. Wrapping around her... going for her face-

"Let's go!" the person called. Their cloak fell away from their face, revealing a sullen, worn pale face and blood red eyes. They motioned Deena to come down. "I'll show you to my hideout."

Athelwulf couldn't handle the circumstances of detention anymore. No one was coming, no one was trying to escape and no one was trying to help her! With a howl as loud as one that would belong to a dragon or griffin she let out all her feelings of fear and anxiety out into the room.
