i did an evolution trade today with RoyalGecko at ServerTime ~18:50 with both Gilgar and Sneasel. Each had their respective items and as the Evolution Guide stated, the trade was at night so they should have evolved.. but i got both of them back as I had sent them.. so either there is a glitch or there is wrong information floating around..

Did Gligar hold Razor Fang and Sneasel Razor Claw?

As there could be a mistake in giving items. They could be interchanged because they have similar names.

Edit: I got confused by your serious sentences :p You need to Level them up holding those items at night.

Actually, you only need to level up Gligar/Sneasel at night while holding Razor Fang/Claw to evolve. Trading is not needed in order to evolve them ^^"

Don't mind me, just floating around here and there, once in a while :3
