13, albeit a bit hesitantetly, reached out and grabbed Colt's hand, the other gripping the side of the vent. In just a minute, she jumped, landing safely on the ground. She let go of Colt's hand, and looked both ways down the hall before looking up at him. "Which way do we go?" 13 asked anxiously. "I've never been this far before.."

"I believe we came in from the left, so that's where we'll go. My car is parked just outside a tunnel of sorts."

13 nodded hesitatnetly. "Alright." She started walking to the left, her bare feet making little to no noise on the tile floor. No one apeared to be there, and they were able to make it to the mouth of the tunnel without any innteruptions. There was the sounds of footsteps, and a voice called out hesitantely, "Colt? Is that you?" It was Dan's voice, though he hadn't moved forward.

Dan said nothing for a minute. 13, confused, asked, "Danny? Why can't you show your face?" "Alright, kid," a gruff voice said, "You can come out." Dan stepped forward, a guard's hand wrapped around his throat. He was pale, and he stared back at them blindly. "I'm sorry," he said hoarsely, "They found me." 13 gasped. "D-danny?" she seemed horrified at the sight before her

Colt let out a hiss and immediately his brain went into defense mode. A hand shot out in front of the younger girl, and his other hand balled into a fist. In fact, his feeling that he ought to stay in a position where he could defend her was the only thing keeping him from leaping attacking the guard.

The guard laughed. "That's right, son, you can't make a move on me. Because if you do, I'll kill him, and the rest of my friends will take you down. That'll leave us with Number 13, and she'll go back to the Youth Containment Center. That's where she'll be going anyways, but I thought you should know that your own end will be much worse if you even lift a finger." Three more guards stepped forward, burly, large men who stared Colt and 13 down cooly. Above their heads, their was a creak, and just barely, a ceiling tile moved.

Fear roared in his chest. Well, he most certainly wasn't going to take this laying down, for sure, but that didn't mean he had any idea what he was going to do. Plans ran through his mind; if he drew his knife, he could probably take one or two of them down, but that would be as far as he would get. He would also have to decide between attacking the ones surrounding him and 'Tina and the one holding Dan. The latter was the most immediate threat, but if he let his position, that would free the others to charge in and take the girl. Perhaps if he waited for them to cluster up more and try to take him hostage, it would be easier. Yes, then he would make his move.

The man smirked. "Now. I want you to stay extremely still. One false move, and I'll choke him. My friends here are going to collect both of you, and then we'll move the subjects to the YCT. You," he said, gesturing to Colt, "will go to Luswire." The two men moved forward, and the ceiling tile moved more. "I don't think so," a voice said, and Nadia dropped down. In her hands, she held what apeared to be a large pipe. She quickly swung, taking out one of the guards. All of them were suprised, including the one who was holding Dan. His grip loosened, and as Nadia ducked around one of the men, Dan twisted his captor's arm, managing to get him to let go. Charging the second, he slammed him agains the wall, knocking him out. That just left the final one, advancing on Nadia, who was clutching her side, breathing heavily. His arm swung, and she moved to duck it, but it knocked her to the ground. Dan was running torwads him, though he was just as drained.

Colt was frozen in total shock at the girl's sudden appearance. His first thought was, That must have really hurt her..., as he recalled her wound. The second, HOW IS SHE HERE?! The third regarded the guard now approaching her. Without hesitation, he sprung at the man on a diagonal angle, glad that he appeared to be roughly his size, though the guard was certainly more muscular. He barreled into him, as if ramming down a door.

The guard slammed face-first into the ground, going limp. Dan jumped out of the way as he fell to the floor. For a minute, evreything was silent as Dan and Nadia fought to catch their breath. Then, Nadia spoke. "Well? What are we waiting for?!" "Right," Dan wheezed, as he hurried to the keypad, punching it in and sliding the doors. 13 ran up to her brother as he and Nadia ran out. She apeared to be asking something, and he responded hurriedly. Nadia din't look at Colt or acknowledge him, before running across the street to the car that she had taken, jumping in and starting it up. Colt would recive a final text from Mr., all that it said was, "Tah Tah."

Colt had so, so many questions for Nadia, and he started towards her, an apologetic look of confusion on his face, but he was stopped by a buzzing from his back pocket. Taking out his phone, he touched his hand to his temple, wondering how on earth the man had gotten his number, and shook his head with a bit of a vexed expression. Telling himself he'd have to speak to Nadia later, he turned and ran to the other car, unlocking it and slamming it into drive, beckoning for the younger kids to get in the backseat.

Dan and 13 hurried to get into the backseat of the car, closing the doors as fast as they could. Nadia started up the car, pulling out of the alley and into the street, away from the building and into the darkness. Dan helped his sister fasten her seatbelt, as she was badly shaking, and glanced behind them at the building before looking to Colt. "Now might just be a good time to get out of here."

"Right you are," he said, pulling out and swinging the car onto the road, headlights still off, though blinking them once, hoping Nadia would understand it was a signal to follow him. The worst that could happen, he figured, was he may get pulled over by a cop, in which case it would become the best that could happen. He called back to his passengers, "Hey, kids, we'll probably be heading to the nearest hospital, if that's alright. Dan, don't freak out, but those creeps...er, put some electronic stuff in your sister. We're going to want to get that checked out, see if the doctors can't get rid of it."

Nadia pulled to a stop, seeing Colt's headlights flash. She figured it would be best to follow him, since he knew this area better then her, and had Dan and his little sister. So, she pulled around, going behind Colt. She was still mad at him, but not as much as before. She winced a little at the pain in her side, but ignored it. That could be taken care of later.

Dan glanced at his sister, horrified. "They did that to you?!" He hugged 13 tightly, who closed her eyes. "They hurt you too..." Dan shook his head. "I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you."

He didn't want to butt in or interject himself in the conversation, but as he pulled up to a stoplight, he turned in his seat and reached to lay a hand on Dan's shoulder. "Hey, you couldn't have known; they were sneaky about it. The second you got a chance to protect her, you did whatever you could." If only there'd been something I could have done for my sister... his brain whispered, and he quickly shoved the thought away. He couldn't think about that. Not now, not ever. There wasn't anything anyone could have done, let alone him. He hadn't even been born.

Dan looked at him helplessley, before glancing at his now silent sister, and gently letting go of her. "I...If my parent's wouldn't lift a finger to save us, I have to protect Amaya. It kills me just thinking about what I couldn't stop from happening to her."


Nadia pulled up behind him at the stoplight. She tapped her fingers on the steering wheel, her hand going to her side. Was it foolish of her to do what she had? Probablly. Did she regret it? Oh, no chance of that. But she had to admit, this was preety painful..

"We're going to fix this, don't worry, kid. "Amaya," hey, there we go! Don't you worry, we'll be okay." Pulling forwards, he drove the rest of the way to the hospital without saying much, just focused on getting there before the SoBM got their bearings. Even still, every second he got, he glanced in his review mirrors, more than slightly paranoid.

Nadia continued following them, and when parking, silently got out and hurried over to them. Dan looked at her with concern. "Nadia, exactly how hurt are you?" "I'm fine," she muttered. Seeing Amaya, she went over to her, slowly bending down a little so that she was eye level with her. "Hi, chica, I'm Nadia," "A-amya." "Good, now-" Nadia would've fallen on her face if it wasn't for Dan catching her at the last minute. "Okay, both you and Amaya need treatment."

"Hey, don't count yourself out of that. We both know you probably shouldn't have jumped that far," he said softly, moving to Dan to help steady Nadia. He knew she was probably pretty upset with him, and therefore might potentially take his concern the wrong way, so he added, "I'm not saying 'I told you so', please don't think that. I just mean that it probably wasn't the best thing for you, injury-wise." Colt tried to make eye contact with her, his blue-green gaze pleading.
