And just like that, everything changed. Humanity can only be described as extinct.
Just like normal, every day was followed by a night, one that would eventually end and begin a new day. Humans would continue their daily lives after a night of sleep, just like how it’s always been. But what if one day that stopped? What if one day, there was not another day after that? What if it became night forever? What if nearly all of the humans never took another breath again? Before this, these were just mere questions, a thought to ponder about from time to time. We would think of them, shrug it off, and go on with our lives. Unfortunately, those questions became a reality.
The sun had disappeared from the sky, and so has the moon. Either that, or it had been blocked out. The sky became pitch black other than the speckles of the stars millions of miles away, and in some places, the aurora borealis. After a few hours, temperatures drastically dropped and almost every human began to panic. They knew what had happened. After a few days, people began to die due to the overwhelming cold that had swept the earth. The earth was still in complete darkness. Weeks passed, people passed, and everything was getting worse. After a few months, humanity was reduced to a mere speck. Only those living in places where geothermal energy was abundant was living. But that changed after a year. You would think that there would be no survivors, but that wasn’t the case. In fact, a very small number of humans were immune to the devastation.
There were only around 10 survivors on earth, and their goals were to just survive. For some odd reason, these individuals developed a strange, inhuman ability. They all were different and some of them even helped their survival. One other odd thing was the momentary flashes of brightness in the sky, like the sun had come back. They happen about once a week if you’re lucky, but they could appear over a month later. If you blink, you miss it. There has also been supplies hidden in the survivors homes, if they had one. Fresh meat or crops could be found in containers or other things of the such, but it was a rare occurrence. Everyone who was smart enough knew something was off, it was more than the sun disappearing from the sky. Someone was playing god, messing with their lives like an experiment.

◐ - Personality - She would be the last person you expected to survive, her lack of skills and knowledge, her seemingly endless amounts of fear and worry, everything that would’ve killed a person by now was what she was. She isn’t good with interactions or anything of the sort, as she tries to back out of all of them. She always tries her best, but always fails due to trying too hard or not enough.
◐ - Power - Regeneration of herself and any object she touches. Her regeneration automatically heals any wounds or something similar, and she can revert an object she touches to its original state, or a state in between.
◐ - Strengths/Weaknesses - As said before, she’s practically useless in the survival department. She screws pretty much everything up and has a disappointing amount of lacking knowledge. Her only strength is that she can heal, but that’s it.

◐ - Personality - Cold, direct, and rational. He has incredible instincts, reflexes, strength, and knowledge. He knows how to make a decision on the spot, and he can execute a plan perfectly. He is a great listener, but never usually adds his own thoughts into a conversation or anything else like that. He is quite pessimistic, always looking on the downsides. He never relies on luck unless necessary, and disregards any suggestions to do so. He is also quite blunt, never sugar coating anything and doesn’t try to be nice.
◐ - Power - Large, metal wings. The bird-like wings each are around 7 feet long, making the wingspan 14 feet.
◐ - Strengths/Weaknesses - As stated, he is an expert in survival and dominates in combat, other than technique. His weakness is that his harsh attitude drives others away, and he doesn’t care about life and death. His mindset is “if I die, I die. Nothing more to it.” His wings also drag him down due to how heavy they are

◐ - Gender - Cis-female.
◐ - Sexuality - Pansexual.
◐ - Appearance - Aria has silky oak brown hair, which she fashions into a lazy ponytail behind her head. Her icy blue eyes always appear excited and determined, though there is a somewhat dismal light about them. Her cheeks have sunken inwards, allowing her a noticeable, high cheekbone, and along with her shadowed eyes make her look rather menacing, though this is challenged by the gentle smile that often plays at her lips. Her build is willowy; unhealthily slim, due to a lack of food, with well sculpted limbs and a tall frame. Her outfits consist of jeans, plain t-shirts and a black jacket that she rarely removes, the sleeves of which hide numerous scars.
◐ - Personality - Arianna, as some have mistaken, is not blissful, and will quickly defend herself if accused of this; she simply prefers to look for what little light is left in the world rather than examining the darkness. Even through this rather bizarre ordeal, Aria's chirpy attitude has rarely faltered, proving her a useful asset when morale is down. She'll try her best to cheer others up, and is protective of everyone, whether they be strangers or friends; she finds it awfully hard to make enemies. Often this defensiveness created anger in those she is trying to save, for often they wish to solve their own problems rather than have Aria solve them for her.
◐ - Power - Lightning manipulation, and in certain cases, creation. If in a lightning storm, Aria can draw lightning to herself and weild it however she wishes, though when not in a lightning storm this power crosses the line to practically useless.
◐ - Strengths/Weaknesses -
Strengths: a wide range of general knowledge, fluent in several languages [though, admittedly, with almost no humans left on the planet this is rather useless], resourceful, decent agility, speed and strength, knows several medical precedures and has invented several natural remedies.
Weaknesses: Terrible in combat, her overprotective tendencies often lead to stupidity, can't bear to be the reason for another person's pain, often over thinks things and has crippling fears of heights, cars [ptsd], waves [also ptsd] and rabbits or hares.

◐ - Appearance - Sirient is tall with teal hair. He has a dark, navy blue sweatshirt with a yellow shirt with stripes(similar to Charlie Brown) underneath. He always has headphones on and would never go anywhere without them. He wears a pair of grey sweatpants with blue stripes at the side. He has a watch on his right arm that tells him the date and the time. He usually has a pretty neutral look on his face, not too happy, not too angry. He's has an ax in his backpack at all times to be safe.
◐ - Personality - Sirient is a pretty serious, yet laid-back person. He is good with technology, and made the watch he wears. He tries to get along with people he meets, it's that and his laid-back personality that's kept him alive all this time. He enjoys playing with technology(when he can find some that is working.) and turning it into something new.
◐ - Power - Fire: He can create sporadic bursts of fire, which last for a few minutes. It helps warm things up in the cold nights. Though they don't last long, it definitely helps. He draws the power from his hands.
◐ - Strengths/Weaknesses - Strengths: He is decent in combat, with the ax as a weapon. He also is good with technology, being able to make things out of electronics, though it is hard finding electronics to work with. Weaknesses: He is afraid of many things, heights and needles being the biggest fears. With these fears, he doesn't like venturing out very far. He also can zone out a lot, and miss important group plans.

◐ - Gender - Female
◐ - Sexuality - Straight
◐ - Appearance - 5'2'', gold-blue eyes (x), olive skin, long silver hair usually worn in the first style (x), rounded face, overall facial structure similar to this. She typically wears a white ribbed crop top, jean shorts, white slip on sneakers, an oversized knit cardigan, and pale blue purse. (x)
◐ - Personality - Reserved and untrusting, her overall outlook on humanity is very dour. Though she cares deeply for those close to her, it's rare that people achieve that status, both due to her cold outward demeanor and her fear of being hurt. Another major fear of hers is being unable to protect those she loves, one only reinforced by her inability to do anything but watch as her father died a month or so after the sun and moon vanished. Struggles with her family have only increased her independent, solitary nature. However, were someone to breach the layer of ice surrounding her character, Alaska is strongly committed to protecting that which she loves, and will stop at nothing to do so. Beneath it all, she is truly a dreamer, sometimes finding herself lost in thought and fantasizing of a tomorrow she knows will never come.
◐ - Power - Fittingly enough for her name and personality, she has gained the ability to manipulate the cold. This extends to ice, which she is able to produce upon making contact with something, regardless of whether it contains water or not.
◐ - Strengths/Weaknesses -
Strengths: Though often concealing it, she is very intelligent, both street- and book- wise. Her father was a pilot and taught her how to fly as well. As a result, she was legally certified to fly an airplane before she could even drive.
Both: Truly a daredevil, few activities unnerve her. Back when life was normal, she would take every chance possible to go rock climbing, ride crazy amusement rides, and so on. She has no fear whatsoever of her own death, only that of those around her. This tendency can work both in her favor and against it.
Weaknesses: She's very conscious of the opinions of others, allowing herself to suppress her own emotions and desires simply to avoid confrontation or dislike. Ultimately, this results in her eventually losing control over those pent up feelings. Fearful of what might occur should she truly get close to others, it takes ages to win her over. After her loss of all friends and family in the worldwide horror show of events, this tendency is only more pronounced. She is also deathly afraid of spiders.
◐ - Backstory (optional) - Her parents went through a messy divorce when she was 11, her mother taking custody of her older brother and her father taking her. Though she got along very well with her father and not so with her mother, the experience was exceedingly difficult for her, as she and her brother never were allowed to see each other.

◐ - Appearance - Noah has shaggy pale blond hair that falls down to about chin height, as well as ice blue eyes. He wears a white hoodie over a purple tracksuit top over a black tanktop. For pants, he just wears a regular pair of grey sweatpants. Underneath his clothes, he's rather fit, appearing strong. He also has a scar over his left eye and usually has some sort of bandage on him from rough-housing around.
◐ - Personality - Noah is fairly energetic and also not quite aware of boundaries, as seen by him usually greeting people by wrapping them in a massive bear hug. He tries his best to make those around him happy. However, he tends to be fairly gullible, although he believes the words of those he considers to be his friends above all else.
◐ - Power - Advanced strength. Although he was already fairly strong before all of this, having been a wrestler in high school, he now has ever stronger strength.

Strengths: As noted above, Noah is quite strong. He also tries his best to get along with others and is quite selfless, trying his hardest to protect those around him.
Weaknesses: Noah is quite gullible at times, leading him to be overly trusting at times, due to the fact that he's honest to a fault and expects those around him to be the same.

◐ - Appearance - He is approxiamately 6' and has about shoulder length black hair he usually keeps in a ponytail like a samurai. He wears a blood red samurai style kashimono. He brandishes a red handled katana with a black blade. The katana's sheath is black with a blood splatter like design. He has all white eyes, a rare trait his great-grandfather passed down to him. He has 2 vampire like teeth, although they are not used to suck blood. Underneath his shirt, He is very fit due to all the training his father made him do as a child.
◐ - Personality - He tends to keep to himself. He doesn't really take the time to make friends with anyone. He spends his free time sharpening his blade or writing letters that he never sends to his family.
◐ - Power - Kenji has the power of the shadows. With his power he can dissapear into the shadows and re-emerge at any moment. When he uses this power with his sword, if it hits the target or solid surface, it leaves a black gash where the sword sliced. Using the power properly, he can lengthen his sword or trap an enemy using the shadows for a limited amount of time.
◐ - Strengths/Weaknesses - Kenji is an excellent swordsman and usually wins close-quarter battles. Unfortunately, He does not have many long ranged attacks besides from his bow so, he does not have very good chances in a long range battle. A constriction to his powers is that he can only submerge in shadows produce by other objects. If he tries to submerge into his own shadow, he will be trapped in the shadow realm and slowly die. After using his powers for a long time, He feels uneasy and gets very vunerable. Time constrictions for trapping someone and lengthining his sword would be about 10-20 minutes depending on how strong the opponent he's trying to trap is and aout 30-60 minutes depending on how long he makes the sword. *Note: He cant submerge the entire opponent and can't make the sword longer than 12 feet.
