In order to unlock moon stone recipe, do I need to craft thunderstone or is it still possible to unlock after making the previous ones (fire, leaf and waterstone)? The same applies to the succeeding recipes, right?

So I think, yes, you can unlock further recipes by boiling whatever you wish. (Though the more 'advanced' recipes might award more experience so you unlock things faster by boiling them but that's just a hunch I have. :,D)
