The change brought a booming snarl out of Sputnik, who violently
lunged themselves back. Their unsheathed claws skittered
ear-splittingly on the newly materialized pavement and drew out
several sparks before their newly awoken cat instincts left them
and Sputnik fell dumbly onto their side, their eyes trying to take
it all in.
Their breathing has returned with a struggle, but they were quickly
reminded to clamp down on it as their vents released a concerning
amount of steam, some of it through the sides of their mouth. They
couldn't figure out how to cough, didn't need to. Ah, of course.
This was happening now- might as well bring out the full package.
Of course.
"I... Wasn't prepared to be so quickly confirmed on the city
theory. Please, tell me someone here just discovered their ability
to warp and it wasn't the World itself playing with us. Otherwise,
this long day has gotten even longer."
"Quite sure 'warping' is not a tool in Reshiram's arsenal." Yoru
replied helplessly, scanning their new surroundings. The city was
vast, a major one, no doubt, and clearly more man-dominated as
opposed to the more Pokemon filled establishments. Most of the
light came from far off streetlamps and the light from the windows
of the freakishly tall buildings. She wondered if someone had
transported them here or not, and/or whether it had anything to do
with their quest.
Yoru could hear the distant cries of human and pokemon from
somewhere in the city, and responded by padding forward just a
little, finding she was starting to get the hang of centering her
body weight to allow transport on two legs. She raised her head to
peer around, but was finding nothing so far.
After a few minutes of silence, Della spoke again. "As far as I
know, and I have completed a lot of research on Cressilia, it does
not gain that ability, and henceforth, I am not the one who
transported us here. It is most likely that our former transporters
brought us here. I suggest that we take a minute to recuperate, and
continue forward to investigate where we have gone and why."
"Recuperate? Shouldn't we...I don't know, send out a scout or
something?" She made an effort to listen closer for the voices in
the distance. She wondered how this was going to help the legendary
Pokemon. They had been taken to a city....maybe this was their
first clue...? Carefully stepping closer to the end of the
alleyway, taking care not to make a sound with her massive claws,
she peeked around...only to find herself ducking back. "Humans
everywhere." she muttered.
Della raised an eyebrow. "I am unsure why you find this course of
action so strange. We have been pulled into an unknown area, most
likely by the "Legendaries" that have summoned us in their hour of
need. But why, pray tell, are you so nervous about the presence of
humans?"
