Max rolled his eyes. "And Boreas isn't?" he shot back. He walked to
the greenhouse where Fauna usually tended to her plants. The door
was open, and Max stuck his head in. "Hey, Fauna, you there?" No
answer. He walked in further. All of the sentient plants were
freaking out. "Woah, calm down!" He kept walking around. Fauna was
nowhere to be found. Max was worried. He started walking around the
school. Still no sign of her. No one had seen her. He reached the
library. There, he saw something on the ground. He picked it up. It
was the necklace that Fauna never went anywhere without. "Uh oh."
He immeadiently started running for his dorm.
"How?" Boreas immediately questioned, frost creeping up his arms
and further decreasing the temperature in his room. "How did you
know?" Jagged mini icebergs reached from the walls, criss-crossing
Boreas' dorm.
"Well, we've got to go find her," Boreas snarled. He snapped his
fingers and ice erupted from the ground, a wave of cold carrying
Boreas and Max to the garden. "This way's quicker!"
Max was startled. "Woah, Okay, so that's your power." When they got
to the garden, he rushed inside. "Feathers? Feathers?" He called.
He stomped around the greenhouse, hands cupped around his mouth.
Max looked over his shoulder. "Feathers is what she calls her
Petunia Doll Flower, it's the only sentient flower that can talk."
He continued shouting, "Feathers!" Suddenly, a tiny flower doll
appears at Boreas's feet. "You don't have to shout, you know."
Feathers considered this. "Hmm...yes, I do. Fauna was watering me
when she suddenly got the strangest look in her eye, dropped the
can, muttered, "She's calling," and simply walked out!" Max was
surprised. "Thank you, Feathers."
"Okay. I'll meet you there after I finish," Boreas confirmed, then
called back up a smaller platform of ice and sped away.
Boreas decided to go slowly, carefully looking through the shadows,
trying to find any hint of evidence of Fauna.
Max walked to the library and started looking for any sign of
Fauna. While he was in there, he saw Kyleen carrying a huge pile of
books. "Hey, Ky." Startled and Embarrassed, Kyleen dropped her
books. "O-oh! Max!" She arranged her flustered face into a mask of
cool indifference and started picking them up. Max bent down to
help her. "Kyleen, have you seen Fauna?" Kyleen shook her head.
"No, what's wrong?" Max bit his lip as he handed her the last book
and they stood up. "She's missing." Kyleen was shocked. "What?" Max
nodded. Kayama's mouth was set in a grimace. "Well, where did you
last see her?" "The garden, but Frosty Boy is there. I'm here
because I found the necklace here." Kyleen nodded. "Bring
that...boy here. We can look for clues. It makes more sense to look
here." Max nodded and ran off towards the greenhouse.
