Boreas gasped for air in the smoke, his view becoming hazy. But,
drawing on some unknown strength. Boreas focused on Odelia and
called upon the last dregs of his power. A typhoon-like wind swept
through the cave, slamming Odelia against the wall, whipping Zephyr
away and out of sight, yet also causing Kyleen and Max to flail
around slightly. Boreas shouted and tried to control the wind, but
it was getting fiercer by the moment, and colder too. As a last
resort, Boreas tried to send out a wall of ice to lessen the wind,
and that somehow worked, though Boreas' vision was getting fainter
and fainter.
Odelia smirked. "Oh, a uncounious puppet won't do at all." Her
pupils started spinning backward and shrunk back. She looked around
until she saw Boreas. "Won't accept an offer? We'll just have to
force you, then." Just as before, her eyes transformed, morphing
Boreas's eyes green like hers. It was clear that that was a sign of
her hypnotic power. Boreas stood up and faced the others. "Let's
see what the Powers of a Water Elemental ancestor are really like.
Boreas outstretched his hands, sending a wall of ice at Kyleen and
Max. Max was able to dodge it, but Kyleen got the full brunt of the
attack. She was slammed against the wall, breath stolen out of her.
"No!" Max screamed. He rushed Boreas and swung his hammer. The
first time he overswung and Boreas was able to dodge it, but the
second time connected with his head, knocking him to the ground.
Maurice and Max were the last ones standing. "Max! You have vat
necklace?" "Huh?" Max realized what Maurice was talking about. He
pulled out the duplicate Hypnotico. "Maurice and Max locked eyes,
and Max immeadiently understood. Enraged, Boreas lunged for the
copy, and Maurice shoved him to the ground, pinning his arms behind
his back. Max approached him and managed to look Boreas in the
eyes. "Listen to the call of the Hypnotico...Listen..." When
Borea's eyes darkened, Max finished with, "And awaken!" With that,
Odelia lost connection and collapsed. Controlling Boreas had been
too much of a strain, and she fell unconscious.
Boreas blinked as he registered a faint ringing in his ears. He saw
the faint shadow of Max approach, then sighed slightly.
"You...idiot Maniac..." And with that, Boreas fell unconscious as
well.
Somehow, Max managed to get the two unconscious bodies up the
stairs. Maurice stayed behind to secure Odelia and try and rescue
Kyleen. Max found Mrs. Fern, the school nurse, and they brought the
two boys up. Max told them the whole story. A specialist was
brought in to remove the glowworms, a rescue team brought up Kyleen
and Maurice, and Odelia was sent to a high-security prison. They
were recognized as heroes, but because they had skipped class, they
had to serve a week of detention once Zephyr and Boreas woke up. As
for Fauna? She was brought up when the rescue team went down for
Kyleen and Maurice, and only recently have you found out that she
has woken up.
