Pre-Cannon Steven Universe
When Steven warps away from Homeworld the warp brakes and he’s flung into the past. So far back in fact that ’Rose Quartz’ is still alive. It’s after the war but Steven’s going to find a way back and fast before he makes

Chapter 1: Face First Into The Sand
——————————————————
“Please, don’t follow me.” Steven sadly whispered, clenching his fist and staring at the Diamonds. They leaned out of the building desperate to help Steven but they couldn’t. If Steven stayed around any longer he could put all of their lives in jeopardy. He couldn’t bear to shatter another, let alone a Diamond.
All of Gem-Kind would hate him for stars sake! He set his mind to warping home, shifting his weight slightly he was completely enveloped in the bright light of the warp pad and warped off. Steven let his mind wonder while floating in the warp stream and slowly taking his jacket off. He wasn’t paying much attention until the warp stream seemed to rip open. The stream bent and fidgeted shaking Steven around as the warp began to break.
Or at least that’s what he assumed, had someone broken the warp back he was going to? He couldn’t see why anyone would though, after all they were in Era 3. An era of peace and kindness. The warp stream then mended back into shape but Steven did not land on a warp pad, or anything for that matter. He was floating in the middle of the sky over Beach City’s beach.
He gasped but before anything could save him he came crashing down on the sandy shore with his jacket landing softly on his back as he had landed face first.
Have a wonderful day y’all, you deserve it :)
Chapter 2: Rough Landing, Even Rougher Realizations
———————————————————————————-
When Steven woke up he was pleasantly surprised with the fact he wasn’t pink anymore. Nope, not a single splotch of the neon color anywhere on his body. The more he dwindled on it the more he felt like it could appear at any moment. That is why he stopped gushing about the detail very quickly. He picked up his jacket and looked around, it was Beach City yet… something was off.
Little Homeschool was nowhere in sight and neither were any gems… he couldn’t help but shake the feeling of his anxiety beginning to crawl up his spine spilling into his ears and whispering to him just so he could hear. They’ve all ran away, because of you. The thoughts whispered and Steven shuddered. No, that couldn’t be right!
There had to be something else that explained this. Maybe he could ask the diamonds? The boy flinched at the thought, if he knew what was good for himself he knew that it was a terrible idea to go see the diamonds again. He needed some space from them right now, maybe in a few days he could try and talk to them again. What about White?
He realized eyes widening, she would surely have questions and Yellow and Blue would probably just try to shrink him again or force happiness onto him with those clouds. It was not fair, all the Diamonds had these amazing new abilities that helped others. He too had new powers but they were the opposite. They hurt and destroyed, caused pain and suffering to his friends, family, and even himself. The pink creeped up his skin feeding into the thought making it worse.
He was already on the beach which was a good start, it was only a short walk home. Maybe even he could sit on the beach and take in the scenery! Yeah, that sounded nice, the warm orange sky of the sunset was so soothing. Steven seemed less tense until he remembered sitting with Cactus Steven, letting all his frustration out with words. The cactus was so small and harmless yet Steven had warped it into a monster.
Just like himself, it had become violent all because he never took into account the cactus’s feelings. In all of his frustration he forgot that the plants he spit on and that came to life also had feelings and were easily impressionable. Steven sighed… ok, maybe not the beach. He just lay down in his bed letting the rest of the day tick by, he found himself doing that a lot recently.Just sitting there hoping for the day to end and the next one to be a great, happy, and wonderful one but it never was.
He always felt terrible or another thing had happened to make his pretty ok day terrible and that would only make the days he woke up terrible even worse! It was a sick never ending cycle and Steven couldn’t help but hate it. He curtly jogged across the sandy beach to the temple but then he knew something was truly off. And what was that? It was the fact that the house was gone, only Obsidian’s statue remained.
Have a wonderful day y’all, you deserve it :)
