when class ends, Treecko and Sam immediately jump up from their seats and head into the viridian forest to try and find new pokemon.

they run across some older friends in the forest, like a pikachu they called Havok and a weedle that was called stinger. then, they see a small creature with a bulb on its back.

Sam: a Bulbasaur?! treecko, lets-

but, treecko has already scared the bulbasaur off.
