Shadow realized she heard the sound of crunching leaves And looked
for the source she saw someone in a cloak walking though the forest
but she couldn’t tell if they knew she was there
She felt a presence close by. She carefully looked around, making
sure she wasn’t hearing things. She didn’t see anyone there, but
then again, the forest could hide things well. She narrowed her
eyes and trudged ahead, keeping a close eye on her surroundings.
She might have to be ready if something attacks her.
Shadow watched now aware they had some idea that she was there but
she was dead silent and purebreds couldn’t smell very well so she
quietly leaped from tree to tree following this person she got a
glimpse of the persons face and identified her as female as she
followed her to a large pond shadow had been there many times to
catch fish and yet shadow still had to remind herself she had lots
of advantages
She heard a bit of rustling in the trees close to her. Was
something following her? She sped, up beginning to run until she
reached a pond. She couldn’t risk someone seeing her if she took
her cloak off. She thought about going around the lake, but didn’t
know if that was the best option.
Shadow watched they had heard her so she just watched to see what
they would do next the water reflected them but made a rippling
effect it was like a water color painting she did in 1st grade
shadow decided if this went on too long she would pounce on them
Shadow jumped quickly to another tree and pounced in a instant she
had them pinned face down on the ground she pulled off the hood and
saw that she was also a hybrid “why are you in my territory,”she
asked the girl
“Hey!” She quickly tried to put her hood back on. “What do you
think you’re doing?” She yelled. She paused and rethought what
Shadow said. “Territory?”
She glared at the girl “You’re in my territory fox,” she spat at
them “ and in case you didn’t notice I don’t like that very
much!”
She waited for Her answer
“Well how was I supposed to know? I don’t live in the forest! I
live close to the city, I don’t know about ‘territory’!” She
yelled, struggling to break free. “And don’t call me fox...” she
growled.
“I’ll call you what I want” shadow growled keeping a firm grip on
her shadow could tell she was from the city any forest hybrid could
wiggle free in a moment “you mean to tell me that you a fox can’t
smell my sent markings, very likely!” Shadow was now getting angry
with this girl
“Why would I need to? I’m not a wild animal like you!” She
kept struggling, hating how firm of a grip Shadow had. She hated
being restrained, and she hated being treated like this.
“Then I guess your nose is broken but I guess that goes for all you
stupid foxes”she said it in a very bitter way “ looks like you
foxes also have no respect at all too” shadow pulled down her hood
again and kept a grip on it “so if your not a wild animal
your a pet, a weak pet”
“Excuse me? No respect? I’m the one pinned down!” She yelled back.
She hated being talked to like this. She lived alone, away
from all this craziness. “I may be weak but at least I know my
place...”
“Sounds like you dont after all pet you are the one
trespassing” shadow knew that she could end her life before you
could say death and made sure to not loosen Her grip
“So this is why my parents hated me...” she quietly muttered,
closing her eyes as a tear fell out. She didn’t want this to
happen. She didn’t want memories to come back, she didn’t want to
die today, she didn’t want to be attacked. She hoped Shadow didn’t
see. It would give her another reason to call her weak. “Just-...
let me go...” she muttered.
She scoffed, but not in a disrespectful way. It was really a scoff
if relief, if that was a thing. She didn’t feel like arguing
anymore, the memories already washed away the anger she had and
replaced it with grief and sadness. “Thanks... I guess...” she
muttered, barely audible.
