“Yeah! They are these really strong trainers that battle other trainers to give them badges! These badges are used to compete in the league.” Suddenly, a Braviary was flung at the crowd in the stands, but a barrier blocked it, just like a wall.

Penelope scratched her head. She felt funny, but of course, now that she was a Pokemon, she was smaller and walked on all fours. And wait...she grew increasingly excited...she could know and learn Pokemon moves! Penelope practiced her Razor Leaf on a tree, concentrating on the feel of the move. Within seconds, she flicked her giant pink leaf and razor-sharp leaves spun fiercely in a curved, angled state, slicing a few branches and leaves off of the tree. Penelope had meant to go for the trunk, but that's ok...she could work on aim and precision another time.

Immediately after, she noticed a mix of different footprints set into the ground. It appeared to also be Pokemon footprints. Hmm... she thought. Maybe if I find anyone, they could tell me where I am or where to go. Maybe they're humans too!? She followed the trail to a town, a sign saying, "Welcome to Pinetree Town!" Huh...ok... She went into the town and noticed the berry stalls. Hungrily, Penelope tried to avoid them because she didn't have any money...she would've searched her pockets, but Pokemon don't have pockets!

Penelope managed to avoid snatching any berries from the stalls although she really wanted to because she hadn't had breakfast yet. She found a massive gym and entered. Inside, she thought to herself, Looks like it's for flying type Pokemon? But I'm not sure if I can participate...I'm a grass type... She noticed a Talonflame and Eevee talking to a Buizel and decided to go up to them and ask.
"Hi there!" she started. "I'm Peppi! Does anyone know where or how I can participate? Or is it only for flying types?"
Penelope wanted to battle because she had never been a real Pokemon before, but was also unsure of her moves. After all, her Razor Leaf seemed to curve and aim at the wrong direction. Maybe it had something to do with the notch at the tip of her leaf?
