Lu was about to enter the room
before he paused just outside the door. "I. Uh... Didn't think this
through." He said, looking at the barrier that prevented him from
leaving. "Do you remember where you put my book?" He asked, peering
into the room at the disaster waiting to be cleaned
up.
"Thank you, and you didn't have
to run, you know." He said, taking the book and flipping it open to
his section, reading through until he found the dispel method for
the wards. He let out a sigh. "Why are these things so
complicated..."
"The dispel for these wards.
They're so lengthy and multi-stepped." He said, thumbing through
the instructions. He got the necessary things and set to work with
the actual spell, saying the words and setting the ingredients
close to the barrier, then of the final word, he nudged them into
it, causing the whole thing to hiss and dissipate into a cloud of
steam.
He looked at the mess too for a
moment, seeming a little detached from it all though. He let out a
sigh and started by the door, sweeping splinters and the like into
a pile.
He nodded. "I know... It
worries me, that I'm capable of this." He said, continuing to sweep
along the wall. "This is why I asked to be chained up though. To
prevent at least a little of this." He explained.
She gave another sigh as she pick enough that she could carry. She
turned and spoke “I know but it’s didn’t felt right to chain
someone, or a friend...” she said while walking with the wood
planks. “Where do I put these?” She asked.
"I understand." He said,
nodding in agreement. I'd find it hard to do as well... But if I
knew it was truly necessary..." He paused, thinking over it for a
moment. "I would. As for the wood, maybe we could have a bonfire
later?" He suggested. "So, to take less time, you could toss them
out of the window." He added, pointing over to it. He looked around
for the trashcan, finding it and emptying the dustpan, then
sweeping up more small shards and such.
She looked over at the pointed window and nodded, walking towards
it and dump it outside. She stepped back and wondered, ‘what if
I did chain him, would I forgive myself for it?’ before going
back down and grab more of the wooden planks.
After a few long moments of
silent sweeping, Lu had managed to sweep up all of the loose debris
and regular dust. He dumped the dustpan one last time and got ready
to help with the larger pieces such as the boards, shattered table,
and snapped bookcase.
He reached down to pick up some in the back of the room and let out
a quiet hiss of pain, letting go of it almost instantly and holding
his now stinging hand. "S-still a little wet, I guess..." He said,
looking for the towels he had brought.
She grabs some more planks and pushes them out of the window before
looking at Luciel. “Towels were placed near the door where you left
them” she said while attempting to pick up a bigger wooden plank.
"Ah... Thank you." He said,
walking over and picking up one or two. He noticed that the piece
you were trying to pick up was a big bigger than what you had been
carrying.
"If... if you don't mind, you could leave the larger things for me
to do." He offered, feeling a little bad that you were helping
clean up the mess he had made.
He headed back over to the pile of wet rubble and began to towel
off the pieces, occasionally touching a fingertip to them to see if
they were dry enough. When it got to a point where it was bearable,
he picked up and good armload of it and carried it to the window,
small lines of what could be called steam coming from where his
skin was making contact with the damp wood.
She let go of the piece before realizing she have gotten a splinter
from the wood. ‘Sh**’ she thought to herself when grabbing
onto her hand. She looked at Luciel, “a-Alright.. imma... stick
with the s-smaller ones..” she said before looking and picking up
the small planks.
He nodded, tossing the scraps
out of the window and heading back to pick up more. 'God... Why
was I made like this?' he wondered, seeming to fully realized
the damage he had done. 'Why is it that I feel so calm and
content, then not even a minute later, I'm in a full blown rage?
Why do I do this? It feels like I'm not supposed to be this way,
like I'm two separate people mashed into one...' He shook his
head slightly, clearing his thoughts and focusing on the task at
hand.
He let out a long sigh, not knowing what to do with himself, so
instead he busied himself with the heavier items. He picked up the
half-of-a-bookshelf and headed to the door. "I'll be taking the
heavier things down this way, since they won't fit through the
window." He said, waiting to see how you would
respond.
She wished she didn’t heard his thoughts as she walked towards the
window. Letting out a sigh and turned. “Alright....” she said
before turning away to pick up more.
He nodded and headed down the
stairs, carrying the bookshelf. He passed through the living room
and out of the front door, then around the side of the house to
where the dump-pile was.
He tossed the broken furniture on and headed back up to get
more.
*a portal opens up and frozen calmly steps out playing on her
phone* oh man.... what have i missed?
She looks up and flicks her hair that was slowly falling out from
behind her mask back into place
