The beauty contest has been telling me to complete some users chicklist and I completed it. But for some reason it does not register. Is there anyway I can salvage the points?

Try their party. Sometimes, if the clicklist isn't "long" enough, you also have to interact with the user's party. That should solve your problem? o:
