will an Egg from the Advent Calendar break my chain? just want to know ASAP.

No, it won't. Any eggs that you've gotten from an event will never break your chain, i.e. Advent Calendar event, etc.

I won the "Event Spriting Contest" as it says on News Announcement #224.
