"you dont hove to be a jerk." says jack, as he hooks his battle axe on his back. the rim shoots in flames from the runes covering it. "oh, and the air in this place ages your insides until it kills you from the inside out." jack said, as he put his gas mask/ regular mask on. "here, a friend of mine made two spares in case this one breaks." he said, as he handed one to david, and one to Ilyce.

Ilyce takes the mask offered to her, “This isn’t me being a jerk, I can promise you that.” She shrinks back as the flames come off the axe, “Anyway, what type of place is this? Why would a kid be in here?” She kneels down to see if David needs help with his gas mask.

She looks down at the ground for a moment, "I was a little older than you when we got into an accident. But hey, I survived, you survived too. That means you're meant to be strong enough to keep going. No matter how hard it may be." She stops and looks him in the eyes, "Can you do that David?"
