As Whitefur and Frozenheart came back in, Whitefur got bowled over by a grey blur.
Silverpaw had lept at her and now the two where on the ground and Darkpelt was laughing his fur off. "It was your brothers idea" the young apprentice mewed to the shocked deputy.
"I could understand that" Frozenheart lifted Silverpaw off.

Blazepaw tilted his head. "Yes. What was that about, if you don't mind me asking." He mewed, his tail curled around his paws.

Lionfur watched her catches with pride. "Wow, they were very good catches. I'll show you my favourite technique to catching bigger fish," he sat by the edge of the water, completely still. He made as little noise as he could and dipped the very end of his fluffy tail into the water by his paws. Seeing a archer large fish come close, he became even stiller and slowly drew his claws out. With a burst of movement, his paw dove into the water and caught the fish in the side. As the fish was big, that didn't kill it. He tossed it into the air and grabbed it with his jaws. The fish soon stopped flopping and he turned to the side to place his catch down. "If you feel like you have the strength for that, try it. The fish are quite heavy though so I'll help you if you look like you need help. Give it a try. After this we'll head back to camp."

Flurrypaw frowned. Sniffing around the riverbank, she found the dingiest, darkest place and began to dig, specks of dirt and mud splattering her fur. Soon she found what she was looking for: a worm, pink and juicy. Awkwardly, she impaled it on a sharp stick that happened to be lying nearby. Taking it carefully between her jaws, she dipped it into the river. Soon, a trout came along, and took the bait. Some sniffing, a yank, and soon said trout was flopping on the bank. The flopping ceased to be when Flurrypaw stuck a claw in it. "... I may need bigger sticks for bigger fish."

Saffronmoon frowned. "What do you mean? Oh and also, I brought a snack for you." She gently put the mouse down, fake beetles downward.

Flamepaw gave the mouse a sniff. "This smells a bit.. odd? I'm not really hungry anyway," He pushed the mouse back to his Mentor. "Are you?" He challenged, a glint of mischief was in his big brown eyes.

Lionfur sniffed. "Don't think I've seen that technique before," he pushed all the fish together and then looked back at Flurrypaw. "You'll get stronger, I promise you will. How about training later?" He asked, picking up some fish.

Saffronmoon smiled. "Knew you wouldn't fall for it." She turned the mouse over, revealing the 'beetles' underneath, covered in mulberry paste. "Allow me to introduce you to our new topic; camouflage, disguise, and some pranking. Using forest materials, I will teach you the art of stealth and surprise."

Flurrypaw grinned. "I feel fine, just a bit hungry. Do we have enough food for leafbare? I'm planning to dig a hole inside the Riverclan territory, put some fish in, let them breed, then when leafbare comes we dig them up and eat them for dinner. Do you think it'll work?"

(sorry was eating dinner)

Lionfur's eyes closed. "Maybe," he took a long breath in through his nose and looked at his apprentice. "This is your second time out of camp, first hunting, you already knew how to fish, ways I haven't seen, and now you want to make fish survive the rest of leaf-bare? H-how do you know all that?" His eyes opened again, clouded with an unreadable emotion.

Flamepaw smiled. "Sounds good! My white fur probably isn't the best though, there won't be much use in me trying to hide in bushes.. maybe in the snow." He muttered.

Pineclaw was now sitting in his den, trying to sleep, now exhausted. He was usually thought of as 'lazy' by others because he spent half the day asleep. He grumbled quietly and yawned. Curse his owl-like tendencies.

Swiftstream was now outside the camp, hunting alone. She sat at the edge of a cold stream, waiting for fish to pass. She dipped her claw in and hooked out a small trout, placing it beside her. She shivered at the feeling of cold water.

Kestrelkit absentmindedly was pawing at the ground, humming to herself. "What might you be doing, little sister?" Mistkit asked. Kestrelkit snorted irritably, swatting at her with her tail. "You're older than me by a few heartbeats." she grumbled.

"... Hm. That's actually a good question. It just... Makes sense! Like, I've seen a bird eating a worm, and then a fish jumped out of the river, grabbed the worm, and bounced back in, so I knew birds and fish eat worms! Also, while I was thinking about how to fish, I thought, hey, fish really do love hiding in grass, right? My fur is kinda like underwater grass when it's in the water, right? So what if I fool the fish into swimming into my fur? BOOM insta meal!" Flurrypaw stopped to take a breath." Also, one night I couldn't sleep, so I looked outside and imagined I was eating rainbow trout, and then I asked myself, why can't I have it all day? And then I answered that question, because of the long long looooooong walk to the only river with rainbow trout in it, du-uh! I know that because you told me about the river before... So what if we take some of those lily pads and pile fish on them, then attach vines to the sides, fill the lily pads with water and carry them home? And then we dig a hole in the River clan territory, and full that with water, and some water grass, and put the fish in? BANG fish whenever we want! But... we might have to always get fish though because it might run out... "

SHALLOWSTAR exited the nursery, purring contentedly. The clan was doing well, especially considering that there was a distinct lack of warriors. Maybe she needed to go ahead and make the apprentices warrors and make the kits apprentices. But, she could worry about that after the Gathering.

HERONPELT led the border patrol back into camp. The patrol itself was relatively uninteresting, as they encountered nothing between the camp and the border.

Lionfur smiled. "I'm so glad you're my apprentice., He meowed. "Lets take this fish back to camp and try fighting, maybe some of the other warriors can see how well you're doing."

Swiftstream continued to fish and then padded to camp with three trouts. She placed them on the fresh-kill pile and sat down beside it, grooming her coat.

Flurrypaw grinned proudly. "I've been thinking about this since I was a kit, you know!"

Saffronmoon laughed. "Oh, that's no worry. Look at me! I'm a ginger cat, and yet I can still color myself green and brown, however messy in splotches. Let me take you to my den, where my materials are. Then, we can start with some basics."

Saffronmoon led her apprentice to her den, swishing the "curtain" sewn together with vines behind them. She padded to an empty corner of the room, and moved a very thick swath of branches and bark to the side, which had been concealing another partof the den. It was impossible to see the cover, since it blended in so well with the brown walls. Inside, there were piles of leaves, bark, twigs, and flowers of all colors in corners. There was a large flat stone, with a dent large enough to hold a apprentice. Colors splattered the inside. Finally, there was a large, club-like stick at the side of the stone. This stick was also covered in color.

Saffronmoon turned around to drag the mass of wooden material back over the entrance.
"And this, Blazepaw," she announced, "is my secret hideaway."

Swiftstream turned and padded into the warrior's den, settling in her nest. Her gaze swept the area. Nobody to speak to. She shook her head, frowning. What to do now? Sleep, I guess. She lowered her head and shut her eyes, trying to go to sleep.

(can someone please interact with swiftstream? or pineclaw? they're lonely.)

Blazepaw's mouth dropped open. "Woooow..." He felt even smaller in this huge opening, even smaller than he normally feels, which is very small.

Lionfur padded up to Swiftstream's den, beconing his tail for his apprentice to follow. "Are you free at sun high? I would like help to start my apprentice off with her fight-training." He meowed, curling his tail up.

Rainpool stared at the sky some more. I wonder what'll be at the gathering..

Hawkpaw prodded Pineclaw with her paw nervously. "So... w-what are the symptoms of coughs starting? W-what are the best herbs for them?" She mewed, still shaking for some reason.

Gustleaf sat in her den, mumbling to herself about how many of each herb she had. "Comfrey, Horsetail, Goldenrod..."

Lunarheart bounded out of the camp, hunting for prey. She found a mouse, catching it between her claws. Lunarheart smelled the scent of a squirrel. The squirrel was climbing up a tree. She dropped the mouse, buried it, and waited for the right moment to grab the squirrel and kill it.

SHALLOWSTAR padded though the camp, looking for her warriors. She had finally picked who was going to the Gathering- Heronpelt, Swiftstream, Lionfur, and Blazepaw. They were all they could spare at the time- the increased activity on the ShadowClan border made her uneasy. Even if it was the night of the Gathering, she wouldn’t put it past those carrion-eaters to break the truce and attack RiverClan.
