I guess I don't understand how the Safari Zone interfaces with the
normal Pokeradar. I know that you can play the game, and it won't
affect your pokeradar at all if you adopt nothing from it. The
"check if it breaks your chain" thing says that Pokemon from the
Safari Zone will break your chain. I was searching for a Pokemon
unrelated to my Pokeradar chain (which is Caterpie evo line right
now), but since Caterpie and Butterfree also showed up in the
Safari Zone, I caught two and adopted them. However, it had no
affect on my Pokeradar chain. It was suppose to go up by two
according to the check if it breaks your chain, but it didn't. And
I haven't seen any eggs wandering around in the Safari Zone. So an
explanation of this?
Pokémon caught and adopted from the Safari Zone won’t break your
chain as they come pre-hatched and not as eggs (ie. only
eggs ever have a chance at breaking your chain once they
hatch). The chain breakers you’re referencing are the legends
Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornadus (which will only appear if you
have a Hard, Light, or Cold Rock in your possession, respectively).
The three have a random chance of appearing in the Safari, and once
caught/adopted, you’re given their eggs, not the Pokémon
themselves. You can chain them in that way, which is why they’d
break your normal chain. Actual safari chains are totally unrelated
— more on that on the wiki. :-)
