Nik shrugs. Some strange red dust is visible on Auron's paw. The spot the Riolu was petting reveals Nik's fur to be gold.

"What is it, Auron?" The Vulpix spots his friend's hand and sighs. "Oh well. You were gonna find out eventually...",

He shakes himself hard, the dust forming a small cloud. When it clears, a shiny Vulpix stands before Auron.

Nik's ears bend backwards. "That's because I am... My parents wanted me to disguise as a normal Vulpix for some reason. I never knew why. I still don't."

Momo turns in her sleep, and Darwin begins to wake up.

Nik is still asleep, the blanket no longer around him due to turning. Darwin looks at his friend in a bit of shock. Momo just looks confused. "But didn't he have red fur?"

Momo turns to look at the Dewott. "Really?"

"The only other shiny in his family is his mom's sister. Do you know what his grandmother did when she evolved? She made that Ninetales curl her fur and say she was Alolan. The funny thing was, it wasn't because she was shiny..."

"Why was it?"

"It was because she was gay. When Nik was born, it was fine. They could be proud of their shiny son. It was after a long while that they began to notice his...attraction to boys. They deemed it a curse. His aunt was easier to hide. She evolved. But Nik wanted to stay a Vulpix forever."

It was at that moment that Nik finally woke up. "Hi, guys! What's up?"
