Event+Normal Egg Odds?

I know that when you breed an Event Pokemon with their non-Event counterpart you have a lower chance of finding the Event Pokemon species eggs in the daycare, but out of 50 eggs so far from an Event-Normal breeding pair not one of them has been the Event variety.

Is this normal or should I be looking for something I'm doing wrong?

I've breed a few events for their non-event versions, but that is it. I've heard that it can be hard to find them in the daycare eggs, but I don't know what the chances are.
