Lumiose City's hot new trend?

The Battle Dome. It's a massive complex influenced by the entire battle frontier of Hoenn - run by an eccentric woman named Amy.

But suspicious things have begun to happen in the Battle Dome, including Pokémon going missing and strange mishaps. And at the same time, an evil team called Team Geode has begun a secret plot to take over - could they be linked to the crimes at the Battle Dome?!

You're here as a tourist or just a visitor to the battle dome - but when you're locked in the dome by the team, it falls on you to figure out just exactly who's behind this.

start at the battle dome in the center of town.

Daphne yawned as she made her almost nightly journey from her small apartment above a café to the glowing Battle Dome right next to the Tower. The short girl was easily recognized as she was on the top 5 list of strongest battlers, despite how she acted.

Coming close to the list - currently at the 12th spot - was a battler named Mae, from Alola. She was here just to check it out and somehow became engrossed in the battling.

Holly Bai | 18 | appearance | Current Interaction: None

Holly shields her eyes from the bright lights, tilting her head back to take a good look at the Battle Dome. "Hoo, boy!" she exclaims with a slight smirk. "There's our destination." She points to the pinnacle of the building. "The top!" The Ninetales at her side snorts, and she ruffles his ears. "None of that attitude, buddy."

The Dome's absolutely gorgeous in the nighttime. Holly's seen photos of it, but she's never actually seen it in person, and it's so much better than she'd expected. Her excitement is infectious, almost, because Ninetales, despite his aloof attitude, is visibly excited. She grins. She'd let the rest of her Pokemon out, but they're pretty big, and she doesn't want them to bother the pedestrians.

"Let's knock em all out." Ninetales gives an approving bark of agreement, and the two of them set off towards the Dome.

Hiro and his Typhlosion walked towards the dome. Hiro looked at the building and blinked before stretching. "Alright Typhlosion, we're here. Just remember bud, no matter what we get we still have a great team either way." He said cheerfully and smiled at his Pokémon.

Typhlosion gave off a cheerful growl and smiled at his trainer. The two then walked toward the dome.

London approached the Battle Dome with his partner, a female Braixen he’d received from Professor Sycamore, beside him. He stood silently and took in the large building from afar.
“Braixen... We’ve fought our way on to this list... We might not be #1, or #10, but with all of the training we’ve done, we can definitely climb to the top.” he encouraged, smiling down at her.

Kendall walked by her lonesome to the Battle Dome, noticing many trainers approaching it. She took a deep breath and began giving herself a pep talk quietly. “I mean... Look at all these Fire-types... my partner has the upper hand...”

"7th place Minun..Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday we had figured out about the Battle Dome.." The young girl said, as her Minun smiled in response. "You've made it this far Lucia, now all you have to do is work harder.." Lucia said, in hopes to encourage herself. She was nervous, her Minun knew. Anyone who've recently been paying attention to her would've known. "Alright Minun! Let's give these folks a show to remember.." Lucia said, as her Minun followed her to the battle dome.

Holly Bai | 18 | appearance | Current Interaction: Hiroshi

"Woah, look at all those people!" Holly gives a mischievous grin, rubbing her palms together. She's not exactly well-known, but she's definitely a talented battler, her Pokemon all well-trained and synchronized with her. Ninetales bites the back of her skirt, pulling her back a little as if to say, Watch where your hands go. Laughing sheepishly, she occupies herself with running her hand through his fur again. "Thanks, buddy."

She spots a boy around her height--which is to say pretty short, since she's only 5'4" herself--and age, a Typhlosion walking next to him, and bounds up to him, lacing her fingers behind her back so Ninetales can keep an eye on them. "Hi!" she greets him, cheerful as ever, and inclines her head towards his Typhlosion. Holly has a Typhlosion herself, which is the main reason she'd approached the boy and his Pokemon. "I'm Holly, by the way. Are you going to the Dome, too?"

The answer to her question should be pretty obvious, but hey, what do they say about assuming? Besides, she's less interested in actually finding the answer and more in making small talk. And, if the boy's a contender, then she might get the chance to scout out his team.

Kei is fairly tall, at 5'10", with fair skin that burns super easily and super messy black hair that sticks up in soft spikes. He has dark, dark blue eyes that can easily pass as black. Typically he dresses in darker colors, usually blues and greens and blacks, and is almost always seen wearing a dark blue winter coat, even during the summer.

It's awfully crowded here, Kei notices, which shouldn't come to him as a surprise. Inhaling deeply, Kei casts a glance around the area, more nervous than he probably should be. Being in the top ten, it's hardly a surprise that he's come here in search of a good battle, but most people don't know that about him, since he rarely ever even shows his face in public, let alone in interviews.

His fingers itch towards his PokeBalls, wondering if letting one of his Pokemon out would cause too much of a commotion. He's a Dragon-type specialist, which means his Pokemon are fairly big. Ultimately, he decides against it. There'll be time for him to let them out, and it's not now. Kei's trying to avoid social interaction, not get a whole bunch of stares or trample some poor unsuspecting pedestrian.

He casts a glance towards the Battle Dome. He's been here a few times before, but the first few times it had always been as a spectator rather than a contender. He'd gotten in last time though, and managed to land a fairly high spot, so Kei supposes that he'll be defending that title this year, or maybe even rising in the ranks a few spots.

Regardless, it'll be interesting.

"Yeeesh, its bright out today..." Alch grumbled, getting up from her bed to greet the black walls she'd known for most of her life. Purple stains lines along the walls and desks with shelves that went from one corner to the next. Looking at the corner of worn down pillows she saw Mordre, Couper, Chauffer, Dremper and Vivre, deep in sleep. Patting their heads, they one by one looked up at her with sleepy and half excited eyes. "You know what we're doing today?" She looked down on them with bright eyes (although they couldn't really see her eyes that well) and they all shook their heads, not entirely sure what they would have said if they did know but she didn't realise this at the time. "The Lumiose Showdown Dome thing!" The pokemon looked back at her with fear in their eyes, all besides Couper and Mordre who loved fighting. "Not to fight but to watch. For the explosions, right? Heheh!" Relief and disappointment filled their eyes but this didn't stop Alch from wanting to go.

Getting ready, she gathered her pokemon and headed to a ladder in the corner of the room. "Vivre your up." She looked at her lilligant who used Petal Blizard to cover the entrance to her lab in leaves. "Perfect, now we walk." To look as least suspicious as possible, she'd retrieve some of her pokemon and leave one, two or none sometimes. She looked at her pokemon and chose Mordre. Retrieving all her other pokemon and then turned to the small fairy pokemon. With a brisk pace, she entered Lavaridge town and followed the path to the new dome.

"Alright we're here," She muttered to her partner, who stared in awe at the huge dome. "I think Couper would want to see this to--" she began as Couper let himself out of his pokeball. He stood tall and stared at the dome like Mordre. The three of them took a moment to stare before entering and seeing the countless people and pokemom.

"Lilac. Be a dear." Daphne commanded, a highly bored tone in her voice. Her Granbull nodded as it charged at the opposing Haxorus, unleasing a Play Rough. The Haxorus staggered back, fainting. Daphne resisted the urge to smirk as she pushed her glasses up. What a fool. Expecting to beat ME? She's ranked 46, and I'm ranked 3. she thought, walking toward the center to shake the other girl's hand.

Mae sits in the stands with a bag of fries, grinning. "Wow! See that, Kommo-o? She really destroyed them!" she grinned. Mae shoved some fries into her motuh, tapping her feet and waiting for the next battle to begin.

Kaida had to stop a moment just to look up at the Battle Dome, setting his face into the blankness she was known for. So here was where she was to prove herself. Where the pack would prove themselves. She instinctively reached her hands out and settled upon Bark and Howl's heads, needing the quick reassurance before they stepped in. She would have loved to bring out everybody in such a new building, but had to settle for two of her smaller Pokemon. She ignored the crowd as she walked forward, not that most pedestrians would have wanted to interrupt the walk of a girl flanked by a two mean looking dog Pokemon, a Mightyena with an unsettling giggling growl and a Manetrinic that was completely silent except when he bared his teeth at those who got too close to his master. Either way, they proceeded to the Battle Dome.

[sorry got side tracked and became busy playing psychonauts and writing.]

Hiro looked up and nodded. "Yeah, I'm heading to the battle dome. My partner and I have been training for a while now." He replied kindly, and glanced at his Typhlosion, who had always been the type of Pokémon to be friendly towards everyone; including his opponents. The Typhlosion smiled and waved to Holly in a friendly manner as well. "I'm Hiro, by the way." He said kindly.

"Nice to meet you, Hiro! I'm headed for the Dome myself." She grins and gestures to Ninetales, who gives a single nod. "This is one of my partners." Holly peers at Hiro's Typhlosion, impressed, and waves back at it. "I have a Typhlosion too," she reveals, resting her hand on Ninetales's head.

She'd offer her hand to shake, but she's already becoming acutely aware of where Hiro's items might be and how she'd steal them, and Holly's trying to be better. Of course, her struggle doesn't show on her face. "We might end up being on the other side of the battlefield," she adds, grinning, "but I'll be cheering for you until we are."

The air in the Battle Dome's a lot cooler than outside, even if it's already evening, but that's to be expected, considering the air conditioning. Kei blinks once, slightly caught off guard by the sudden gust of air, before striding inside. He spots a girl with a Manetric and a Mightyena, both of her Pokemon seemingly very protective of her, but she's only one of many powerful-looking contenders here.

Kei hides his little smirk in the collar of his winter jacket; he may hate talking to people and social interaction in general, but this? Battling? That he can get behind, and he's even excited about it. He makes his way towards the stadium, hoping to take a look at the other trainers already there.

Hiro offered a small smile and nodded. "That's pretty cool that you have a Typhlosion too. I got mine from Professor Elm before I moved." He explained cheerfully, but didn't give away anything else about his team. "I'll be cheering for you too." He replied kindly. His Typhlosion beamed and glanced at Holly's Ninetales for a moment before slowing down and went a bit closer to his trainer.

London sighed and walked into the Dome with his partner. He then walked up to the receptionist sitting at her desk before him. "Hi. London Steele, here to check in." he nervously informed.
"Ah, yes. Mr. Steele." she responded after a few seconds of clicking on her computer. "Please make your way to the waiting area in Battlefield 3. You will be called for your first battle shortly." the woman instructed, flicking a stray curl loose from her neat ponytail behind her ear. London nodded at the woman and smiled before following her instructions with his Braixen.

Kendall scanned the area, not entirely user of what she was supposed to be doing here. She quickly noticed that a majority of the trainers around her had at least one of their Pokemon out, presumably their partners. She sighed before taking out a Lure Ball from her belt loop, releasing the Staryu from inside of it. "What are we supposed to do?" she asked the Water-type nervously.

"Battlefield 3? That's where I am next? Fair enough." Mae crosses her arms, shaking her head. She pivoted on her heel, followed by Kommo-o. "I start in... 6 minutes. Crap, crap crap crap..." she repeated, frantically darting over chairs, dodging tables and weaving in and out of groups of people who just had to walk specifically in her way. She soon reached Battlefield 3, with a few minutes to spare, Kommo-o by her side protectively.

Daphne walked off the field where she had just finished her fight. Usually after a battle, she would go to get boba tea - call her basic, but it was delicious to her. She preferred the smoothies with boba that her favorite stand served, and usually got strawberry mango with the big tapioca pearls.

London turned back at a voice, presumably female, stating they'd also be on Battlefield 3. He stood there watching as a girl about half a foot shorter than him rushed into the area. He simply shrugged and proceeded to enter, waiting for his name to be called for battle.

After a bit of wandering around, Kendall spotted a girl just about the same height as her, granted her boots added about three to four inches of height to her, taking time to drink boba. "Heyheyhey, do you know uh-- where the battlers are supposed to go?" she asked, though her eyes kept shooting from focusing on the drink in the other girl's possession back to making eye contact with her.

"Oh, mine used to be my mom's Pokemon before she died, so I take care of her now." Holly grins when she sees Ninetales looking curiously at Hiro's Typhlosion, almost like he wants to go talk to him. She lightly pushes her Pokemon towards Hiro's, amused, as the two of them head towards the Dome. "Thanks, Hiro. Let's go knock 'em all out of the water."

Inside the Dome itself is just as amazing as outside. She can see tons of strong looking trainers walking around and checking in. Ninetales gives a sharp bark of excitement and anticipation, his nine tails swishing around his paws. This is going to be good. She can feel it.

Kei quickly hands his ticket in after a taller guy with a Braixen, wondering if the Pokemon's not fully trained or if it's just chosen to stay unevolved. Regardless, Kei knows better than to underestimate any Pokemon regardless of its level. Salamence, when she'd been a Bagon, had absolutely made sure everyone knew that.

He's not participating in any battles today, actually, so he's just watching. His matches start tomorrow morning, so he'll be up bright and early. Kei wonders if the tall guy in front of him's a spectator or a contender, figures it's none of his business, and keeps walking, going towards the bleachers instead of the backstage.

Hiro nodded in response to Holly, "sorry about your mom, but I'm sure her spirit lives on in her Typhlosion. That Typhlosion is most likely a very strong and brace Pokemon." He said kindly solemnly before getting excited for the battle once more. "Yeah let's do this." He said gleefully. He followed Holly towards the dome as his Typhlosion gave off a cheerful roar in response to the Ninetails' excited bark

As they walked in and saw the crowd, then her eyes flicked to a battlefield with a Komo-o and their trainer. She began strolling over there and took a seat in the back row, her pokemon sitting with her.

Kaida took a careful look around as she entered the Dome, shivering slightly at the cool air, much more used to the heat of her pack, being mostly fire-types. Bark and Howl pushed closer to her, unused to the sheer amount of people around them, and she could sympathize. However, they needn't have worried about fighting in such a new place, their matches weren't right away, so they had time to get used to it all.

A pair of eyes was noted by Bark, and he lived up to his namesake as he announced his find, and the trio looked to see another trainer looking at them, who then moved on. Kaida bared her teeth in a feral grin briefly before stalking away, it seemed she wasn't the only one here for battling. Howl noted a commotion going on at Battlefield 3, and trotted over. "Howl? Ah. A battle?" Howl nodded, one paw raised curiously, "Want to see?" A nod, and it was done. Kaida rolled her eyes in exaggerated dismay, but still took a seat, and would quite literally growl at anybody who tried to sit next to her, those seats were for Bark and Howl, thank you very much.

London looked up from his Pokedex when a woman called his name. "Your battle will be beginning soon." she informed him, the boy responding by nodding. He tucked his Pokedex away in his pocket and stood up. "Wanna return for the start of this one?" he asked his Braixen who responded by cooing her name back towards the trainer. "Sorry, girl, you'll be out of here soon though. Pinky promise." he consoled, holding out his pinky with a wink which the Fire-type quickly promised back before returning to her Poke Ball.

The young man proceeded down a well-lit hallway before being stopped, noticing he'd be inside a surrounding square. "Good luck." the woman who escorted him wished before pressing a button on the wall and the square, now being recognized as a lift, began rising London to the stage.
