I'm not sure if it's just me, but for some reason my retro pokemons won't evolve to their next evolution. My charmander and squirtle has been in their first evolution this whole time and this has also happened to one of my starter pokemons as well.

Retro pokemon can't evolve, at all.

not quite clear on the meaning of the last bit you've wrote, though.
