Nidoran (f) is part of both Field and Monster egg groups. When I was pairing it in the daycare with Field egg group pokemon it was only producing the message saying they are incompatible. It was not until I paired it with a Monster egg group that it came up with a valid breeding message.
Are the pokemon only one egg group on this site or is that an error?

Experience taught me that the DayCare only looks at the first Egg Group.
I'm not sure if it'll ever be changed, but that's how it works right now.
