"Wouldn't trade her for the world though. Now then onto business."
Lithar mused while clapping slightly. "The rules of society are
still in place. You can't talk to higher rank officials and so on.
Also, it is expected of me to be well mean and treat you as if you
are below me. While that will not happen within these walls unless
I host a party, in public I may say somethings which are not
classed as friendly. That will be just an act though and nothing I
say is truly what I mean."
"Alright. When you say these rude things, am I to act as
though it's normal?" Samuel asked, making mental notes. He was
oddly sensitive, but he was sure he could handle it knowing what
Lithar was saying wasn't true.
"Sadly yes you must act as if it is normal. If you feel as if what
I said was too harsh you are free to tell me so in private and we
will both go over away to make it still be harsh but not too harsh.
While we are here in the privacy of our home though I will treat
you as if you were apart of my family." Lithar explained.
"If you do I am afraid there will not be much I can do. The first
time or two I can say your new to your position and don't know all
the rules by heart. After that, I am afraid my hands will be tied."
Samuel straightened at the word 'whipped' and his eyes went
wide. "Seriously? How many whips? And are there other forms of
torture they perform?" He had so many questions, but he was afraid
the answers would make him cry.
"I am unsure of the number as it varies from person to person. The
most I have seen is twenty and no. Normally that is the only way
they punish helpers. At least from what I have seen." Lithar
answered.
"Depends on the person. Most who I interact with though will make
it a private affair and even apologize for what must be done."
Lithar answered. "The only time they will really make it a public
affair is if you try to actually kill them."
"So death is an aspect? Is death ever a consiquence? Like,
is it meant to be an execution?" Samuel asked softly, popping his
neck. His voice was shaking a bit.
"Then you should be fine." Lithar mused. "Now as for the rules of
the house, they are quite simple. Don't do anything to get you or
other members of the household hurt, actually eat three meals a
day, which is a Martha made rule, and don't enter the room on the
right side of my room."
Lithar pondered on this question for several minutes before
answering. "That I would have to figure out at that point in time
as so far no one in this household has done that."
