Samuel jumped at the sharp noise that pierced the room's
layer of quiet, and looked up at the door with wide eyes. He stood,
setting down the book and padding to the door. He opened the door a
bit, peeking out to see Martha. He smiled, opening the door wider.
"Hello, Martha." He purred.
Samuel gave a large smile. "Oh! Thank you, would you like
to come in?" He asked softly, taking a step back and opening the
door a bit wider to let the maid inside his room.
Samuel closed the door behind Martha and gave a kind grin.
"Would you like to sit on the floor? Is that a bad idea?" He asked,
adjusting his kimono with his pale fingers and light
touch.
Samuel smiled and sat across from Martha with his legs to
the side of him. He gave a soft smile to the maid. "How are you,
miss?" He asked kindly, tilting his head.
Samuel took the cup, holding it carefully in his hands.
"I'm doing well. I'm a bit nervous though, since Lithar asked me to
meet him in his study in an hour." He admitted softly, keeping his
small smile.
"Like different rules than the ones I heard about prior to
today?" He asked softly. He sipped his tea, humming in light
satisfaction as he tasted the tea. He closed his eyes for a second,
before setting down his cup and looking up at Martha.
"I see." Samuel hummed. "I'm sure they'll be simple." There
was a pause in his phrase. "right? Not too difficult?" He said,
uncertanty slipping into his voice, making it a bit shaky.
"that may be bad... You know, if I forget which side my
room is on? Or if I'm dazed or sleepy and head into the wrong
room?" Samuel said softly, rubbing the back of his neck and sipping
the tea.
"I'm lucky I'm not the curious kind. I'm extremely scared
of the unknown, so you could board up that room and I wouldn't
care..." Samuel hummed, drinking more of his tea. He set the cup
down, popping his hips with a light ease before picking the cup
back up and drinking more.
Samuel opened his mouth, about to question what would be in
there, but instead decided it was better to say something else. "We
all have things we don't want others to know about. Things we hide.
I completely respect that." He said, finishing his drink and
setting it on the floor in front of him. He smiled at Martha,
expressions filled with understanding.
