DesertClan (Roleplay)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → DesertClan (Roleplay)Duskwind eagerly picked up a pigeon from the freshkill pile and when his sister had moved her gaze from him, he padded towards the elder's den.
Tigerstripe went back into the medicine den once more. She sniffed Ashpelt over once more, and replaced the cobwebs again. "Alright if you promise not to go on any patrols for a quarter moon, and come back to see me you can go back to the warrior's den" she said gently, and released the warrior from the den. Ashpelt nodded, and got to his paws. He stretched and padded out of the medicine den.
Ashpelt sat outside the medicine den and saw Lilystream sleeping in a patch of light. He continued to look around camp and saw Mudfeather putting more brambles into the camp wall. He then sighed and decided to bring some fresh kill to Flowerheart and the kits. He grabbed a plump rabbit, that Fallentree and Feathercloud caught, and went into the nursery.
"They're going great" Mudfeather meowed kindly. "I've got the medicine den's boundary remade well" she mewed and flicked a tail to the thick wall of brambles.
"Ashpelt's here!" Bramblekit mewled as he heard someone walk into the nursery. He abandoned the moss ball and went to have father. He saw the rabbit in his jaws.
Sunkit dashed to Ashpelt, rubbing along legs and flank, " You're all better now? " she mewed hopefully.
Duskwind stuck his head into the elder's den, holding a pigeon in his jaws. " Hawkpool? " he mewed, questioningly.
Ashpelt nodded and put the rabbit next to him. "I'm feeling a lot better thanks to you and Tigerstripe" he mewed warmly, and nuzzled Sunkit. Bramblekit sniffed at the rabbit.
Hawkpool looked up from where she sat. "Hello Duskwind" she mewed gently.
Sunkit purred, looking at her father with beaming eyes. " I'm so glad, " she said, weaving around his paws. " We want to hear more stories!" she mewled, her tail sticking straight up as she rubbed on Ashpelt.
Duskwind put the pigeon at his paws, " That was the longest patrol of my life. I swear, all the prey in the forest knew I wasn't allowed to hunt. The squirrels were mocking me, " he said, as he nudged the pigeon towards Hawkpool. " Did you eat yet?," he mewed.
Mudfeather nodded and stretched she then finished bramble she was working on and went to the warrior's den.
Ashpelt purred "of course what kind of story do you want me to tell?" He asked and watched as Bramblekit dragged the rabbit to Flowerheart. She then divided up the rabbit, and Bramblekit took some back to Sunkit.
"No not yet" Hawkpool meowed gently and licked Duskwind's muzzle.
Duskwind purred and touched his nose to Hawkwind's. " I was wondering...have any of your clanmates said anything about...you know, us?" he asked, with an air of mild nervousness. " I can sort of gather how my clan feels, from the looks I've been getting, " he said.
Sunkit paused in her weavings to think, looking up into the corner of the nursery as she pondered. Then, her eyes brightened, " Oh! I want to hear the story about Flower - I mean, Pineclan. " she said, her tail swishing excitedly.
Hawkpool thought for a moment "Firestrike has noticed, and Graysky is giving me some looks, but nothing serious" she whispered.
"Hmm let's see..." He meowed gently and thought for a moment. The only story he could remember was the one from when he was a kit. He didn't want to tell that one to his kits until they were apprentices due to how sad it was. He then remembered another story. "I can tell you about the first gathering PineClan and Desertclan showed up to."
Fallentree sat next to Feathercloud on the other side of the exit. He looked out into the forest his ears pricked for any sounds of cats.
Sunkit's tail drooped ever so slightly, but she didn't want to pester her father too much. I wanted to hear the other story, but alright..., " Yes, I would love that, " she purred, and began to eat the rabbit piece that Bramblekit brought to her.
Duskwind took some bites of the pigeon and looked up at Hawkpool, " I guess I understand the Warrior code and all that, " he said, " But, it seems like it was made for a time when clans were always rivals, " his tail swished as he spoke. " And our clans are anything but that.
