"Flowerheart and I played moss ball" Bramblekit mewled he was uneasy as he spoke. He was still thinking about the conversation Dawnpelt had with Flowerheart. What will Dawnpelt do if Sunkit decides to be a medicine cat apprentice...? What if she gets upset at Sunkit and starts to hate her? He thought in concern. He shook his head clear, and flicked his ears doesn't matter... I'll stand up for her. If Dawnpelt gets upset.

Hawkpool nodded and purred she licked Duskwind's muzzle and looked at the green forest area.

Fallentree purred an went over to Feathercloud. "We do make a good team" he said kindly. He then remembered about the request from Dawnpelt. "Let's go look for them." He mewed in agreement.

"I bet they said they were gonna hunt, and just ran off together instead." Feathercloud snickered, whiskers twitching in amusement. "Hopefully they didn't wander too far." She yawned, flicking her tail. "Let's find them." She agreed.

Sunkit gave Bramblekit an unsettled look. " What's wrong? What happened?," Sunkit couldn't imagine a game of moss ball being that upsetting. There must be something else on his mind..., she thought.


Duskwind purred, his tail curling around Hawkwind's. " Come on, can't linger much longer, " he said, as he walked into the tree line.

Bramblekit flicked an ear. He then sighed and sat down. "Dawnpelt seems to want you to become a warrior..., but what if you choose to be a medicine cat like Tigerstripe,and Greenbush?" He said quietly.

Hawkpool nodded and purred. She then walked alongside Duskwind back towards camp.

Fallentree nodded and parted his jaws once more in an attempt to catch his clamate's scent. He then heard Duskwind and Hawkpool nearby.

Sunkit looked taken aback, " I didn't even know I had another choice, " she said. Sunkit looked down at her paws for a moment, " Why would Dawnpelt not want that for me?" she wondered, looking to her brother for reassurance.


Duskwind pushed through a clump of bracken, his paws scuffing the ground softly. " I wonder what those rogue cats do all day, " he mewed absentmindedly. " Just sit around all day...plotting?"

[I completely forgot Dawnpelt interacted with Tigerstripe...my bad.]

Bramblekit went over to Sunkit and nuzzled her muzzle. "Don't let it worry you. If you want to be a medicine cat I believe you'll be the best cat this clan has seen, and if Dawnpelt doesn't approve? She'll have to talk to me" he said gently.

Hawkpool shrugged "they might be training too, or growing their ranks..." She said quietly.

Tigerstripe thought for a moment "we can make an escape tunnel in the warriors den. Or post more guards, however it might weken the camp..."

Feathercloud flicked her ears in the direction of Duskwind and Hawkpool's voices. "Found them." She snickered, darting off before flattening herself to the ground and creeping up behind the two of them. "You two come here often?" She meowed, grinning as she flicked her tail as a small greeting.

Sunkit purred as her brother comforted her, but she had many thoughts bouncing around in her head. What if I did want to be a medicine cat?, she wondered. " Thanks, Bramblekit. It's still so many moons before we become apprentices. Who knows what things will be like then, " she mewed.


Dawnpelt nodded as Tigerstripe spoke, " It's a tricky situation. I'll have to talk with Flamestar about it as soon as I can...," she meowed, her tail swishing the ground slightly as she spoke. "Has Starclan spoken with you? I know you would've told me, but I had to ask..."


Duskwind jumped at the sound of Feathercloud's voice. Turning to face her, he smiled, " Well, I do live here you see..." he began.

Feathercloud grinned and sat down, licking her paw. "Really now? Are you sure? Nobody's seen either of you all day, that's for sure." Her eyes gleamed mischievously. "And Dawnpelt will have your head on a branch if you don't get back to camp soon." She warned in amusement.

Bramblekit purred and looked at Sunkit. "I'm sure it'll work out" he said gently, and licked a paw. He drew it over his ear as he brushed some moss off. "Either way I'll be by your side and Ashpelt will support you to" he said quietly.

"The last time I spoke to me they mentioned darkness consuming the forest...but that was moons before Sunkit, and Bramblekit were born" Tigerstripe responded quietly.

Hawkpool looked over and saw Feathercloud she purred in amusement. "Hello Feathercloud" she mewled gently. Fallentree then walked over and nodded in agreement with Feathercloud.

Sunkit smiled, happy to hear her brother's words. " So, why don't we pick up that game of moss ball?" she said, eager to do something fun and light hearted.


Dawnpelt considered the thought for a moment, " Well. I'm sure they would speak to you if they had anything to say, " she mewed softly, looking away.


Duskwind rolled his eyes, " Yes yes, I know. Don't lose your fur, we were just on our way back, " he said, gesturing towards the camp with his tail.

Bramblekit nodded and grabbed the ball of moss once more. He then threw it towards Sunkit.

Tigerstripe got to her paws and stretched. "It'll work out. I'm sure we will be stronger than those rogues before they show up again. Just train the warriors more often." She said gently.

Hawkpool looked over to the other cats, and looked towards the camp.

"The day-long way back?" Feathercloud smirked. "Actually, I think Dawnpelt will have your head on a stick either way. She asked if you were there to go on patrols. It was kind of amusing. No offense to anyone." She stood and stretched. "We should probably either continue hunting or dig up the rabbit and head back." She meowed to Fallentree.

Dawnpelt nodded, but still had a stern expression. " But will we be strong enough? " she said, not exactly looking for an answer. " I'm sorry, you're right. Just have to keep training, and hope for the best, " she mewed apologetically. Her ears flicked as she heard the mid day patrol returning. " I'll leave you to your duties for now, thank you for talking with me, " she said, dipping her head to Tigerstripe.

Tigerstripe nodded and walked out of camp. She passed the patrol on the way. "Hey Tigerstripe" Fallentree meowed and looked over to Feathercloud. "Would you like to keep hunting?" He asked kindly. Hawkpool then padded back into camp.

Duskwind followed Hawkpool into the Desertclan camp entrance, keeping his head low with his ears back. He had hoped to avoid his sister's gaze for as long as possible. " Duskwind!" A yowl sounded from beside the camp entrance, just out of sight. Duskwind jumped and turned around.

" I really thought better of you, " Dawnpelt scolded. She looked from Duskwind to Hawkpool, giving them equally disapproving looks. " Desertclan is in danger, and you choose now to wander off? " she asked. Duskwind opened his mouth to replay but Dawnpelt cut him off with a flick of her tail. " You are going on the evening patrol, as well. You do not eat until you return, " she meowed seriously. She looked to Hawkpool. " I do not command you, " she began. " But, I would prefer you to stay here. We need more warriors to guard the camp, " she said.

Fallentree purred and nodded he then continued ahead. The warrior flicked his tail slightly as he tried to scent something else.

"Very well, Dawnpelt" Hawkpool mewed respectfully and dipped her head. She flicked an ear in slight irritation, but didn't say anything else.

Feathercloud paused, able to hear Dawnpelt explode from where she stood. She snorted and padded after Fallentree. "Anything?" She asked softly.

Duskwind seemed like he wanted to argue, with a biting look in his eye, but he held his tongue. He sat back a little, his fur relaxing. " Fine, " he said simply, looking his sister in the eye. " I'll wait here for the rest of the patrol,"

Dawnpelt gave Duskwind a funny look and nodded. " Don't do that again, " she meowed, padding away to find other warriors for the evening patrol. That was odd..., Dawnpelt thought to herself. She shook her head, not having time to worry about Duskwind's motivations. She found some of the other Pineclan warriors and asked them to go on the patrol with Duskwind, and to meet him by the entrance after they had eaten.
